Oled tv’s do look incredible. You can spot them in the bunch half way across the store on display too. They’re are still quite expensive though.

Not necessarily true. LG OLEDs constantly go on sale and are competitively priced nowadays.
This proves it, Who wouldn't have a OLED TV if they could afford it.
Meh. Not gonna derail the thread, but If you can afford a $1200 phone you can afford an LG OLED panel, you’ll need a second or 3rd job for a Sony OLED though lol.

I've been on a note 8 for two years and I picked up an 11. The phone looks amazing and i can barley tell the difference visually but like most we all want the latest tech and for me the $400 difference wasnt worth it (I only needed 128gb, not the 256gb so its $400 for me).

If you enjoy a stronger case, slightly better looking screen (if it doesnt give you headaches), telephoto lens, the color options the have and plan to use it in water upto 4 meters in water then the pro is worth it. Like most I actually wanted a 5G phone so my iPhone 11 purchase was to switch back to apple, then swap it to a 5g phone next year and I'll have to decide next year on the regular vs pro all over again.

If your into photography and prefer not to take photos close up the pro is your phone. If you are a regular user who doesnt mind moving closer for photos, doesnt care about the best quality screen (like the people who stuck to DVD instead of moving to 4k for years), prefer the 11s color option, 6.1 mid choice screen size or you plan to upgrade next year the 11 is the easy choice.

2 days ago, I traded in my iPhone XS for a white iPhone 11 128gb, and I am very happy with my "upgrade". Price was not an issue for me, but I really love this IP11. The battery life is way better than my XS and it feels better in the hand primarily because of the aluminum edge instead of the slick stainless steel edge of the PRO. I normally like smaller phones but the IP11 feels great in the hand and I do like the bigger screen size. I love the White with aluminum edge combination.

I got the Pro coming from an iPhone 8 and I am a bit disappointed in how yellowish the OLED screen is. I will get used to it, though. Don't think I could switch to the 11. One reason is the telephoto lens which I actually used a lot on my 8, so I'd miss that. Also I don't think I want a lower ppi. I love the ppi on the Pro.

Yup. I’m with you too. I’m actually a little confused why everyone prefers the OLED so much more. My iPhone X gives me mad headaches, but I have a hard time sacrificing features to get the LCD screen. I’m hoping the iPhone 12 won’t have OLED or at least will get rid of PWM.
Again this is all on Apple not OLED display......

I just can’t do anything less than 1080 screen in 2020

You’re right. You would probably come out in a rash if you even dared go in to 2020 with a phone screen that ‘on paper’ didn’t say 1080 or above.

I think everyone who has an 11 needs to listen here and return their 11’s for a Pro at once as 2020 is coming and this display will just not do.

🙄

couldnt have said it better

I know this has been debated and yes the sub 1080 Apple lcd looks all right but with so many smart phones rockin a 1080 it just seems crazy that in 2020 we got anything less

But if somebody’s happy then what’s it to me.

I don’t rock the 11 bc the pro is the higher end model and I like to show out

but if i ’m being honest, I’d probably the rock the 11 in white.

I like the bigger screen than the 11 pro

It amazes me that most people don't seem to notice the massive bezels. When I saw the Xʀ last year, that's one of the first things that I noticed - those thick bezels. They sort of jump out at you!! That, plus the crappy screen resolution, plus the inferior camera (no zoom!) and yeah - the iPhone 11 Pro is absolutely worth the extra money, IMO.

Look at an iPhone 8 and then look at the 11. Are the bezels on the 11 still massive? To me, the bezel difference compared to the 11 Pro is marginal. Also, the LCD displays are still damn near perfect. Best LCD display you will find anywhere in today’s market. I don’t know why everyone puts hate on them. I have the 11 Pro and love the OLED but the LCD is great too. Side by side, the two displays look extremely similar, if not the same.

I love my 11, especially the LCD tint. But bezels are so massive (and 6.1 is little too big for me)... plus I really miss the telephoto. I´ll probably swap again for a pro.

IDC of the pure black on OLED.

I got the perfect LCD screen this time. Uniform, no backlight bleed, blue tint but not too blue that it hurts my eyes. Just perfection. So even if you gave me a free swap, I’m taking this over most of the pro OLED wowwowowowow screens that I’ve seen in stores, photos in this thread and the one my friend has. Of course, if you gave me an equally issue-less screen on a pro I’d go for that one.

But they seem rare so I’m sticking with the 11 this year and see what 12 brings.

I just chock up these threads as, "I was going to get the LCD iPhone all along, just wanted to use my return window to test the expensive device", then run to post how they didn't like it or it wasn't worth it.
Now they can tell anyone who listens, "Yea, I had the Pro, it just wasn't worth it."

It’s certainly ok to prefer the iPhone 11 regardless of cost I say.

From my current experience, I got used to the size and now I really feel that 6.1'' offers the best of the two worlds between 5.8'' and 6.5'' because you get the Max screen features (Landscape mode in several apps, More space on the screen) and into a smaller form factor than the Max.

I am personally fine with the bezels and don't feel that they are so massive and for me it wouldn't justify to go back to the iPhone 11 Pro and pay the extra £420 (iPhone 11 128gb -> iPhone 11 Pro 256gb).

Last but not least my iPhone 11 Pro was rocking a uniform screen but much warmer than my last year iPhone Xs Max. My iPhone 11 screen has a great cooler screen (white are really really white :)) and now this is my last year iPhone XS max which is looking much warmer when comparing them.

I liked very much my original iPhone 11 Pro with its very "pocketable" size and the build premium build while I am still not so convinced with this year OLED panel. But again I don't feel that at any point it worth the extra money looking at what the iPhone 11 is already offering.

I love the battery of the iPhone Pro MAX, because I have an iPhone X, and always I have to take the charger with me all the time. I want to buy 11 or 11 Pro Max, depends the battery life that it would give me. Which do you recommend in this case. There are some more factors to determinate my choice, but the battery life is so important in my day because I can’t charge my iPhone when I want it and it means that if I go out after a day in university I don’t have any battery to survive

This is where I’m trying to make a decision. What’s important to me is pocketability. The 11 Pro is that but for an extra $300?

Based on my usage the iPhone 11 last me between a day and half & two days and the iPhone 11 Pro max has a better battery life than the iPhone 11. So coming from an iPhone X both will give you a very good experience within the battery performance department but all will fall into your own preferences when choosing to purchase the iPhone 11 or the 11 Pro Max.

£300 is if you want to stick go with 64gb. But if you need more ram then the price difference will be higher. In my experience the gap was £420 since I wanted more than 64gb so I had to go with the 256gb option for my ex-iPhone 11 Pro while I were able to pick the 128gb (more than enough for my usage) for my new iPhone 11.

I believe you maybe did it but best is to go into an Apple store (or any shop having the new iPhones on the display) and check them out. I will not lie the iPhone 11 Pro and as the iPhone X and Xs is more pocketable and easy to with one hand but I really got used to the iPhone 11 and now love the extra screen size for the reasons I explained into my previous message.

Something I have also noticed is that while been lighter on paper the iPhone 11 Pro (6.63 ounces/188 grams) feels heavier than the iPhone 11 (6.84 ounces/194 grams) and maybe because it is more compact or such.

Interesting video for this thread:
Meh. He's only stating the obvious while missing out the fine detail. The 11 is for the average user/masses. But if you want oled and/or bigger battery you get the Pro Max. He wants the bigger battery so has to pay the premium for it. This was Apples plan, everything is as it should be.

Opinion of the differences become more polarised as Apples prices get higher. Some just don't see the value in buying the top tier iphone when the guts of all 11th gen iPhones are the same. But then some people want the very best Apple brings, materials, battery etc and are willing to spend.

The comments I read daily about OLED being the best thing since sliced bread maybe valid, for some. Some of this group also want to say LCD is now garbage despite only two years ago believing Apple made some of the best on the market (ipads are still LCD, Macbooks are still LCD, iMacs are still LCD). I still think the ipad Pros have the very best screen I've ever seen on a mobile device, they make the Macbook look so average.

Buy whatever works for you. The iphone 11 will be Apples best selling iphone this year. The Pro Max is still the best Apple makes.
