Anyone know? Why just ilife'09?

It's because iWork was shipping the same day they announced it. You can get it the same day so there's not need to have a special update deal. If someone buys the old version when the new one is out, don't be crying about paying full price to get i t fixed.

Ah yes; so therefore everyone is immoral and no one can have morality. Wow it all makes sense now. FTW!

Kids please. Take your morality talks elsewhere, lest we forget the title of this thread.

yes father and mine now says, delivery on Feb 2nd.

wow way to jump to conclusions. I was just saying that since morality cannot exist without immorality, if everyone were moral, no one would be.

EDIT: Alright no more arguements....for the record I want garageband '09 for the guitar lessons and iWeb '09 for the FTP on my new 1&1 website.

Went to Columbus apple store today. No iLife 09 for sale. Now just have to take my $80 and waste it on drugs and loose women.

That won't buy you very much in either department! ;)

That's why I'm upgrading. I plan on getting a new HD camera. I really don't want to deal with 08 or iMovieHD. Not to mention the IS looks amazing. Hopefully it'll work as well as the demo shows.

The last 2 versions of iMovie have been iMovie HD and iMovie '08 and have both claimed to handle HD resolution video. However both did not do so or only used one field and output 960 x 540 video. I've been using FCP 5 to handle HD, plus it imports HDV without the need to transcode to AIC.

I am yet to see that this version is any different, but I hope so. The interface looks much improved, but there is no word that how it handles footage will be improved. If it does handle HD properly, I'll be ready to start using it.

On a separate note, I just realized today that Aperture allows geotagging. Right clicking on a picture from aniPhone (or from any other geotag enabled phone) brings a "show location on map" menu item. I had no idea this was here and thought the places feature of iPhoto was totally new. Sure the ability to sort is different, but I had no idea mapping was a feature of Aperture 2.

I'll wait and upgrade when they release a Set Box that includes Snow Leopard, iLife'09 and iWork'09... obviously after July 2009... really hope they do issue a family pack of these...

Looking forward to getting iLife 09. Hopefully it will be in stores tomorrow or this week (betting on tomorrow).

Best Buy should have this soon

Hey everyone,
I am an Inventory Manager at Best Buy and our records show that we should be getting this on Monday or Tuesday. It all depends on when Apple shipped it to us and we have no way of knowing that. If it shipped on Friday or Saturday for Monday delivery then we'll have it on Monday. But if it ships on Monday, next day air to Best Buy, then we'll have it Tuesday.

Either way, I cannot wait to get it.
:D

Just a question...

Most of the people who said that they are going to the Apple Store are doing so on Sunday, right? I am in Japan and it's Monday afternoon here, so I'm just checking.

Anyways, I doubt the Apple store would get them in on a Sunday. I'm kinda hoping that it's out here in Japan already and I was thinking about stopping by the Osaka Shinsaibashi store after work today... Either that or Bic Camera, who usually gets stuff fast too...

I'll report later and let everybody know if it was in stores on Monday or not... (I'm not sure if it would make a difference or not though to those in America.)

Thanks for the info!!!

I called my local Apple Retail Store, and a woman answered. I said "Do you have iLife '09 yet?" She said "hmm....I haven't heard of that product. Do you mean iLife '08?" I said, "NO. iLife '09! Phil Schiller announced it a few weeks ago". She went and asked the manager about it. He came on the line and said they didn't know when they would get it.

I'm serious, 90% of the people at the Omaha,NE apple store know nothing about announced/upcoming products. I have asked them in the past about iPods days after they were announced--yet they never seem to know what you are talking about.

Does anyone know when 09 will be bundled with new orders?

anyone?

No. It shouldn't be long after iLife is readily available in stores and that Apple has time to refresh their stock to have iLife 09 pre-installed. When that happens is anybody's guess since iLife is not yet available outside of online sales that appear to be processing.

If you go on Apple's website under iMovie 09 they have tutorials for each feature of iMovie 09. One of the tutorials is about importing from cameras. It shows HDV and other digital cams. It shows the option to input in 1080i for 960 x 540 and 1920 x 1200 video.

Woot, I'm really excited about iPhoto '09 but don't think I will be buying this until Snow Leopard comes out.

iLife '09 will be included with Snow Leopard, right?

No...I waited for Leopard to come out when iLife '08 came out two years ago. Leopard didn't have iLife with it. So best bet would be to get the iLife '09 and then get the Snow Leopard later.

iLife'09 preinstalled on 17" MacBook Pro (early 2009 release)

Spoke to Apple Customer Service and was told that iLife'09 will be preinstalled on the new 17" MacBook Pro model. My local (Tysons Corner, VA) Apple Store rep said that the 17" MBP should be available in their store by the end of January, 2009.
