Still have my fingers crossed! How long did it take you from ordering to arrival? I'm expecting my order to switch from processing to preparing shipment today or tomorrow. I'm not normally an impatient person but it's killing me!

The original order date has been 1st Oct but then it's not as straight-forward to predict it as we don't know how Apple manages its JIT assembly lines (different BTOs, demand etc.). But I got 2 days earlier than the first estimated deliviery date, if it helps.

First post here, first mac i've ever had ordered on Sat 5th in the morning, 27" i5 1tb FD 780m. Went to processing almost immediately and hasn't changed, says shipping 5-7 business days and delivery 16th-18th. I'm in the UK also.

Very excited about getting my first mac, been a PC man for 20 years and looking forward to all things OSX etc.

Also ordered an iphone 5s 32gb gold, although I did a seperate order for this as it will probably be a good 3 or 4 weeks I think before it gets shipped and don't want that item holding up the imac delivery.

Wow......I literally could have wrote this myself......(apart from the iphone bit).....ordered my first ever iMac on 5th in the morning too....also in UK.....same shipping and delivery dates as you!

We should have a race :D

Hopefully we will see our shiny new imac's soon, reading some posts I had hoped that I may get it by the end of this week, I think with my status still on processing then it's very unlikely, best I can hope for is early to mid next week I think, unless it miraculously changes status in the next few hours.

As a new mac/osx user i'm looking forward to getting stuck in, this is going at one end of my living room for the family to use, currently I have my pc in a spare bedroom out of the way but I think the ease of use with a mac will enable our daughter to use it and I can start teaching her about computers and the like while getting her on some home tutoring stuff, school isn't enough these days!

I'll be doing some gaming too no doubt!

Will be interesting to see what days we both get them......I think i actually ordered mine in the afternoon thinking about it now..........i changed quite a lot of the specs tho......went for i7....16 gig RAM....1TB fusion drive and GTX780M graphics.......also added all of iWork onto it as well as preinstalled, dunno if that will affect it or not.......still says 16th - 18th tho so I'm hoping that will be accurate and no later! :)

So this morning I received an email from Apple saying my order from the 24th would be delayed and would now not ship until Oct 15.

Unsurprisingly I was a little miffed but then when I checked the website it shows as 'Preparing to Ship'. Hopefully it won't take too long to transfer to 'Shipped'.

Yeah, take Apple's dates with a pinch of salt and check your courier's website if you have a tracking number - Apple said my 27" would arrive on October 14th when it actually came a week earlier - the 7th.

8 business days counting

I ordered on Sun the 29th and still have yet to get a prepared for shipment status. This is the eighth business day and the original estimate says, ships in 5-7 business days. This is becoming annoying. I ordered:

3.5 / 1 TB fusion / GTX 4gb card

BTW: I live in Virginia

Ordered Yesterday

Hi all.

Signed up so I can keep track of this thread and post any news with my iMac.

Yesterday (10/8) I ordered a 27" iMac with:

3.4Ghz i5
8GB RAM
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeForceGTX775M 2GB GDDR5
and the traditional wired keyboard (gotta have my numeric pad) and expedited shipping.

Hopefully I'll get it before Apple's estimated date of 10/18-10/22.

Glad to be here :)

Ordered October 7th (USA). Estimate was October 22nd to 24th. But I just got a shipment notification.

BTO. Only changes were 256SSD and 780GTX.

Now reading about you guys' orders got me checking my account for my order. I ordered much earlier than you, October 5, BTO. Hoping I could get my shipment notification as well, crossing fingers.

The (Fedex) delivery date is on the 14th though, so here's hoping that estimate is also off. :)

FedEx? I hope they ship mine fedex, they are really good about if I'm not home bringing it to work as they stop in here after they try my house and before I go home :)

Did you do regular or expedited shipping?

Danboard,

What configuration did you order?

Ordered BTO:

27-inch iMac
3.5GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X8GB
256GB Flash Storage
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB GDDR5

If I don't get any notifications soon, I might seriously consider cancelling it and just get one from our local Apple Store, albeit not the upgraded spec that I wanted in the first place. I am in desperate need to replace my regular workstation MacPro, which is starting to act up. Crossing fingers.

Fingers crossed for ya Bro. Wouldn't the Apple Store still have to order it if you did go through them?
