congrats to all of you who are getting your iMacs shipped! :) Make sure to post how it is when you get it and if there were any issues :)

All this shipping time... it's horrible waiting!!

I just called my local apple store and they have a 3.5GHz i7, with a 780MX gfx card and a 3TB Fusion drive in stock to buy!!! Ahhhh god, now to convince myself that I want to spend around £2350 on a computer when there isn't a lot wrong with my PC!!!

Gutted for you mate :( obviously there's no logic to the order of dispatching then.....but I would have been happy as long as it wasn't longer than the estimate, so don't worry there's still hope :)

I'm an impatient bugger by nature which doesn't help!

Although it gives me time to start planning the migration from pc to mac and getting some ground work done on things, it's a shame I was so quick with a nice new desk etc ready for the imac and it's sat there with nothing but an ethernet cable on it!

I'm just taking a guess, but from what i can tell it seems like it all depends on your location and your nearest Apple distribution center. I'm guessing that when you place an order your order is sent to the nearest store and put on queue list, which explains why some get long wait times and some get instant. My guess is that if your out of the country you get it sent from the nearest country that has a distribution center. This might also explain why some people even in the USA get long wait times if that center also happens to be doing alot of international shipping. If i had to guess i would say that the USA center's handle most usa orders and China handles most of the rest. If their are any apple distribution centers in your country then you might be on a big wait list if their arn't that many.

I'm impatient too lol.....my date has just changed to the 15th now for some reason......and even tho it's still earlier than it estimated I'm actually quite annoyed now cos they teased me with the 14th :D sad huh lol. Just hope it doesn't keep changing!

Strange, went to UPS site and did tracking by the number apple gave me and they still have it scheduled for the 14th......but apple site says 15th.....strange......hope I don't have to make my missus wait in all day for 2 days lol :D

Me and emporer are in same country and ordered same day.....so I've got no idea what their procedure is

My local (Cincinnati) store had a 3.5GHz i7/8GB RAM/3TB FD/GTX 780M 4GB in stock that I bought; unfortunately it had a jacked-up screen and they didn't have another to exchange the bad one for. The point being -- some Apple stores stock this model although it's generally considered a BTO configuration. You might get lucky if that's a configuration you'd be happier with.

I ended up cancelling my BTO that I ordered October 5 and took my chances at calling my local Apple Store. Good thing they had this configuration, which was close to the BTO that I had on order, in stock. Now a proud owner of a new 27" iMac!

I got impatient and anxious at first when I read about some of our fellow forum members getting shipping notifications for their October 5 and later orders. I needed the machine badly for work and couldn't wait anymore.

To those who are still waiting for their orders to ship, I wish you patience and good luck! Hopefully you can get yours at the soonest possible time.

What country? Are you also in the same city? Maybe your orders were both sent to different distribution centers. One just happened to take longer than the other?

We are both in England, not the largest of places! I'm actually pretty central in the country, right in the midlands kind of.

Emporer,

I'm in the UK and like I said in a previous post some Apple stores have the high models in stock - sounds as if they all have 3TB Fusion drives thou.... They have stock as I'm still trying to decide on an iMac from Brighton :)

This might explain why your items are still processing.

Can't find anything there related to HE discount and shipping.

I don't think it made a difference to things as it went to processing very quickly and has the same shipping and delivery dates as others in the UK who ordered at the same time.

Does anyone know what the time cutoff is for the shipping that day? Also, do they only build the iMacs between certain hours or does it run 24/7?
