iMac shipping times

My order status has changed to 'Preparing for Shipment'!! :D

Ordered early Monday 07/10. Looks like they should easily be able to meet my estimated delivery dates.

Could very well be ;-) They deliver late for me as I go to work at 4pm and they don't deliver until like 5 or so at my place and its a different UPS guy that goes to my work so yeah it doesn't work well for me lol

Thanks! I was hoping to just get the regular stock, 27" 3.4GHz Core i5 configuration that our local brick stores usually have in stock. I will just upgrade the RAM. Ordering from them a BTO will have the same 7-10 business days processing.

My local (Cincinnati) store had a 3.5GHz i7/8GB RAM/3TB FD/GTX 780M 4GB in stock that I bought; unfortunately it had a jacked-up screen and they didn't have another to exchange the bad one for. The point being -- some Apple stores stock this model although it's generally considered a BTO configuration. You might get lucky if that's a configuration you'd be happier with.

Our local store did carry the same configuration, but unfortunately was not in stock when I first visited them last Saturday, which led me to place an order online instead. Maybe I should give them a call again to see if they have re-stocked the same configuration. Thanks for the heads up!

So finally my order from the 24th has shipped. After receiving an email warning from Apple and a phone call from the business guy to tell me shipping could take longer than expected my iMac should be with me on friday. Perfect timing as I can show it off to friends and I'll have Thanksgiving to set it up.

Oddly enough mine shipped from California; I was sure it was a China build.

Good news!!!

Hey all. I just got an email from my Apple Fed Employee EPP rep that I order the computer through over the phone. She let me know that my iMac has been "Sent to Manufacturer" which she thinks it means the iMac is ready to be built. Very excited :)
 
I placed my order on October 5th, and it changed to shipped today. Im having it delivered next day shipping so its expected to arrive tomorrow October 10th. Originally I had the standard free shipping but I called apple and asked them to upgrade my shipping. They did it complimentary :D Maybe the shipping time is getting faster? I live in Gainesville, Florida

Oh and just so you know, I had a BTO iMac, fully decked out: core i7, gtx780M, 512GM ssd, etc. I ordered OWC RAM so my iMac may come in before the 16gb of ram lol

How were you able to get next day? The fastest I could get was 2-3 day shipping :-/

I ordered free shipping but I called the next day and I told them that I needed to upgrade my shipping to as fast as possible due to work reasons. The lady just offered next day shipping. I guess she did this complimentary since i was paying $3K for the iMac lol

I ordered on the 5th too. Same specs as you except a 256GB ssd. It shipped today also.

I'm having it delivered to a retail store so my estimated date is the 16th. This is 8 days earlier than my original estimated date. Hope it gets there before the 16th though. I CANT WAIT!

I just called to inquire and he said because it is shipping from the US he can upgrade me to Next Day for free! I was psyched. If anyone else wants to try they might do the same :)

My 27" arrived yesterday, couple days delayed from original estimate. See previous reply in this thread for details.

All setup, transferred from prior mac and initial time machine completed.

WiFi is definitely faster for me (still on N, no AC yet).

SSD screams, that's for sure.

Added 16GB of Crucial RAM for a total of 24GB. Had no issues unlike another thread showing some problems for various varieties of Crucial RAM. Ordered the recommended RAM from their website.

Screen looks great, no tinting that I can see right now.

5 hours after status changing to 'Preparing for Shipment' my iMac is now marked as shipped. Delivery for Monday 14th October. So only 7 days from ordering to delivery :D
 
If everything goes well, my iMac should be delivered tomorrow at some stage. It came from Shanghai and is currently in Sydney.
 
Wow! Totally envious of those who ordered the same day (October 5) like me and those who ordered much later that their orders are being shipped! I wish I can get the same luck today as mine is still in processing. Congrats, you all!

As a new mac/osx user i'm looking forward to getting stuck in, this is going at one end of my living room for the family to use, currently I have my pc in a spare bedroom out of the way but I think the ease of use with a mac will enable our daughter to use it and I can start teaching her about computers and the like while getting her on some home tutoring stuff, school isn't enough these days!

Mine's just changed to "preparing for dispatch" :D

Hopefully will be as quick as others and will change to dispatched soon! Ordered mine Saturday 5th in the afternoon.....originally said delivery 16th -18th.......now am hoping that may quicken up.....although unlikely.....16th would be good tho :)
 
I ordered on 5th too, still shows processing for me.

I ordered mine late morning, just checked and still as processing but your comment has put my hopes up for that changing today!
 
My order of the 4th is displaying dispatched! It said preparing shipment for about 30 mins and now it's dispatched. Excellent. If I'm lucky it might arrive tomorrow but I am assuming Monday to be honest.
