I'm not saying anything at all. This way, so long as one notices I never contributed to this conversation, I can run around screaming I TOLD YOU SO at everyone if the rumor ends up being true.

Anyway, I've noticed a pattern with Apple rumors.

Generally, if you get a picture of the "SECRET PICTURES OF NEXT IPHONE/IMAC/MBA/MBP" just a couple of months after the release of a new one, it usually ends up being false.

But if you get a blurry screenshot a couple of weeks before WWDC or a keynote speech, you've got a far greater chance of the rumor ending up being true.

Anyone remember that infamous Gizmodo leak of the iPhone 4 prior to its release, this is almost the same kind of fare.

The WWDC app looks exactly like what I was expecting, really. They didn't dismiss gradients entirely, which seemed obvious they wouldn't. We are far from Windows flat and still far from Android flat.

Apple leaks have been going on since practically the dawn of time. You get a select few insiders getting a first peek at some up and coming product, and one of them has the forethought to quickly snap a picture whenever the chance arises.

Hence why most of these leaks are blurry, dark, and out of focus. I'd be more suspicious of them if they were perfectly framed and shot in perfect lighting conditions.

I can't tell a damn thing from that photo other than it looks exactly the same. What's with all the everyone saying how fantastic it looks? Are you kidding me?

I really hope this isn't real. It doesn't look like enough of a change for me to continue using what has become a very stale OS. If there aren't any drastic changes, I might have to switch platforms. Never thought I'd say such a thing. It's a shame considering how much I've spent in the app store.

EDIT: After taking a closer look, it appears to be an obvious fake.

Um yeah looks fake as H*** to me too. But really you choose a phone based on what the icons look like? I agree it would be a shame to loose all your app purchases but if the icons are not any different then it will definitely be worth it.

I can't believe there's anyone out there that thinks the people that create the icons are the same ones who work on notification center and interapp operability. Or that one blurry screenshot somehow demonstrates that they haven't worked on anything else. Wow.

It was called a joke. But it is a bit strange that the only leaks out of iOS 7 are about the icons. Apple has way bigger problems in iOS than the looks of the icons. And btw, my guess is the teams responsible for each app do have a designer that designs the app icon. This is most likely why none of the Apple stock apps have any synergy.

There's enough there to see it doesn't look exactly the same. You can spot a few differences if you look closely at it.

But you're otherwise right. There's not nearly enough information in those shots for anyone to be able to make an informed decision as to how fantastic/terrible the change is.

Summary:

1/ It could be real, it could be fake - who knows or cares?

2/ Some will "hate!!!" it, then suddenly decide they like it - this ALWAYS happens, and is tediously predictable

3/:

If (naive){
goto 1;
}
else
{
waitAndSee;
}

Nah, in this case, more people will start spilling over to Android and other non ios platforms.

Live tiles are the way of the future. I could not imagine living without them.

Who cares?

Seriously, the amount of attention this tweaking of the icons is getting.... Personally I couldn't care less.

How about some new functionality, hmmm? Or some quicker ways to do existing things. OR something that will actually matter?

I feel sorry for you iOS guys. A $1 theme app for Nova/Apex launchers on Android does a better job then this. And the basic outline looks the same; icons lined up as a grid.

You "feel sorry" for us? You really don't need to. I feel sorry for the companies who paid for those icon designs... I'd feel ripped off!

Design is more than drawing a square, chopping nice curves into the corners, and putting a sheen layer over it.

I find this thread to be hilarious for some reason...

-Multiple instances of people saying that it's "fake" because the icons are not aligned with the screen (duh, it's a picture of a picture)
-People having fun with the concept of taking a picture of the picture of the picture.
-People being disappointed (from a very blurry picture)
-Entertaining the idea that iOS 7 will actually look exactly like that (blurry and grainy)

This person should be ashamed......

...If you're going to try and leak a false photo, at least spend more that 30 seconds in photoshop putting together photos of an android apple theme & an old iphone! :D

Listen. I know this friend of a friend of a cousin who knows a guy who works for Apple. Apparently that's exactly what it's going to look like. Don't believe me? Here's a shot he gave us showing off one of the new iOS7 advertisements they're going to place on the store front after WWDC.

I really like the flat icons. I know because there is a jailbreak tool to remove the gloss, which I suspect is what this is.

cut us apple fanboys a break. its been a slow news day, we are getting impatient for ios 7 and wwdc for all the goodies and we need to vent our emotions.
also, unlike last year, this is the 1st Apple Press Event this year. so yeah...thx for understanding.

Sorry but this is garbage... it doesn't parallel with what's been said about the design thus far... that and the fact that it looks exactly the same. :rolleyes:

I've been reading almost all of the posts here and couldn't resist to make one observation which seems (and correct me if I'm wrong) no one mentioned here - if you read the previous articles about iOS 7 you can find an info saying that people who are internally testing iOS 7 at Apple are using a protective layer over the screen which reduces the viewing angles of the device, ergo making in almost impossible for other to see anything if they are not directly looking at the screen.

This being said, perhaps the light refraction is really messy and when taking the photo of it you get the "potato level of clarity" of the image.

Not saying this can't be fake, but I think this could be a legitimate case of Apple's protective layer over the test devices at work preventing the image to be clear.

i have been thinking about this more and more lately, what with interesting divide between those that favor the icons present in the leaked image and those that absolutely hate the icons. It would be interesting to tally up the results of those that hate and love the icons and see how it is distributed...i know, i am totally bored....

couldn't have said it better myself :cool:

i think this was supposed to be a video but the whistleblower got scared and chickened out... and posted a blurry pic
