You might be in the minority there, I think the squared shape is the best, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, and 12 on, are the best feeling iPhones. But that's just my opinion
Sure won’t even be mention as part of the event. Probably want whatever design they use going forward will be different so stand out from a glance so everyone knows its iPhone.
It’s dead space that won’t show any extra content. Chances are that space will be blacked out like one large pill shape anyway. I’m all for new design changes, but I can also disagree with Apple’s design decision. I just think it looks worse than the shrunken notch on the 13 and 13 Pros, and it’s not added much more content in the process.

Kind of strange to have 2 dots separated - would have though they make a pill shape dead center, and one piece only.
Yeah, the rumored iPhone 15 Pro, with USB-C, redesign, and 3nm A17 are looking like a nice upgrade from my 13 Pro. I just want USB-C More than anything else rumored.
The pill/dot looks much better to me. The notch has bothered me since it started. The big empty area up there seems wrong.
I hope iPhone 15 will have notch. I am aware that Apple likes to be different but having big “i” on top of iPhone is too much for me 😅
They should have just waited for a under the screen version of Face ID and I hate to say it but they could have kept the notch till then. I have a Chinese tab w/ a similar face identification setup which was released a few years ago and has nearly the same appearance (oval tab punch and round hole punch side by side ).
Sure, it will look better on a iPhone but I guess Apple had nothin else to do design wise in their own thoughts and since people continue to buy their products, they will never give us the upgrades/design changes we really want.

I don't know if it's me or not but it's definitely going to take some time to get adjusted. The "i" shape pill hole is more noticeable from the notch. Just stare at it for 30 seconds without moving your eyes away. You will see. However, change is good.
eeeww if that’s real. the notch is way less noticeable than that.
Yes, even in a thread about the i-Hole, people will complain about usb-c. 🙄

Now you can pick between holding an iPhone and holding a !phone. The power is yours
You could always put a big black blob at the top of whatever image you use as a screen background. That is what some of the utilities do on the MacBooks. Harder to automate that on an iphone, though.
Personally. I expect to stop noticing it after a day. it's just not that different.

Did you get to order Apple Watch last year? Jumping from Series 6 to Series 7?
The pill and hole cutouts look awful. It would have been much cleaner with just one.
Also, has anyone noticed the cutouts look like a lowercase i on its side? I wonder what the Apple marketing team has cooking.

“Innovation”? Their Face ID is still the best out there, after 5 years. I’m not willing to give that up for a pinhole or under the screen design that loses quality with Face ID and front facing camera.
It’s only a guess on my part, but I’m pretty sure they’re moving to this design for some reason having to do with hardware. And I’m okay with that.
