Fake

Let's do a little thinking here before we crank open Photoshop.

1) You don't throw trade secrets out. If they wanted to recycle the prototype, they would have broken it down in house and separated the pieces or held onto it until it was no longer a trade secret.

2) Prototypes are NEVER unmarked. In addition to version numbers, each individual prototype is serialized so that if it's compromised they know where the leak is.

3) Why hide the name of they recycler? We all know that the Apple campus is in Cupertino. I doubt Apple has more than one recycler, so they probably know who to blame if the story is true.

I agree with arn, there are way to many artifacts through the entire image, so unless the dude was crafty enough to photoshop a camera, and various scratches, I'm putting my chips in that this is legit, at least to a degree.

Even if they are fake, I think we all know this is what we will be seeing in September. It is not like some big secret. I think I would put the camera in the other corner though like the iPhone to help balance the wifi spot.

im going with MY OWN opinion (after seeing the High-res version) and say this is real.

and if it matters.....ALL digital pictures are comprised of pixels (even high-res ones). im not saying im a master at PS ( heh, i've never used PS even once)

So if we use that logic, then every high res image of a mockup/prototype is real?

hey steve..what do you want me to do with this prototype model?

ah..just throw it in the trash....

but i had to sign my life away just to enter this room steve

just throw it in the trash...

So a "durability test " iPhone just happens to wear and scratch in an identical fashion to a regular iPhone exposed to gradual use over time?

Hmmmm...

I'm pretty sure this has already been mentioned but remember when the mac Mini photo surfaced and EVERY post in the forum had "FAKE" and what happened?

Mac Mini design stayed the same and when the same design popped up in a photo everyones called it fake, guess what released in the end?

So? Whats with you people and think "it happend before so it will happen again"

Try to be a bit more open minded.

if you go to the website there's some writing on the shattered front bezel. it's by the home button on the bottom left all I could make out was "550" but there are numbers there.... or there were, before the shatter
