too bad there are no 4k screen rumors.

(That'd be great for VR, which is already a very strong suite of Samsung's top phones.)

iPhone is the best of all phones. Happy?

Excuse me I can't say the truth that the iPhone x is ugly and you know why :)

2018 and they still have ugly bezels at the top and bottom

Now you see that chunky black stripe all the way around the screen and the chunky flat tyre at the top? Yeah. That's called a bezel ;)

Not sure if you're trolling, but you do know that the iPhone X also has a bezel, but in the shape of a notch.

And the X has a 3mm black bezel all the way around that everyone always conveniently ignores....

When I look at that picture, the very first thing I noticed was the notch. Maybe it's just me.
Gooddddd looking .... phone though

Surley it’s named wrong? This looks like an S upgrade to the 8 rather than a 9 /s

Samsung have had some decent designs in the past, and the front of this phone is passable, but as for the back...as my grandma would say, this thing got beat with the ugly stick. The asymmetric windowhole for whatever that circuitry is, the cheap-looking case material, and the oddly-placed model name at the bottom which tries to copy the placement of the iPhone text, but lacks the same weighting of elements which makes the design feel unbalanced. The model font is starting to look pretty dated too. They really need an overall branding refresh.

Let's talk performance. The iPhone X has one of the best mobile processors on the market, yet isn't really a stronger performer than the Note8 or possibly even the S8 in a lot of areas. The phone is getting held back by iOS 11.
What the hell are you even talking about? The X destroys the S8 in performance in every conceivable metric, especially in real world usage. Android has far more overhead than iOS.

And let's not forget the iPhone X has still to get Apple's best feature. The one that allows you to choose to either throttle the phone or just have it turn off to save their underpowered battery tech.

But that 'feature' won't appear until the new iPhone comes out. Which is just coincidental, course.

"If you're an iPhone 8 or iPhone X user, there's a distinct possibility that your battery could only last 18 months."

"As noted in Kingsley-Hughes' report, Apple saysthese iPhone batteries are "designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles." However, after downloading an app called CoconutBattery, he determined that he had reached 91 full cycles just four months into owning his iPhone 8 Plus."

As a person with an iPhone X, Note8, Pixel 2XL, and formerly an s8+? Yeah, I can tell you iOS 11 is an absolute embarrassment when it comes to performance.

As an Android and iOS user....i agree.

I like the little OSX dock thing that swipes up and the picture in picture video on iOS is handy but a lot of it is a hodge podge of a mess.

Just one example; on the lock screen of my iPad I can use the cross to remove notifications from the days before but for todays? No cross. I have to remove notifications individually. Pain in the butt. Give me a way to get rid of all today's notifications in one go. It's just basic stuff.

I also prefer the way the selection of text worked on iOS 7 too. Smooth, effective, nicer magnification of text selection. New version is just not as good.

Reading iBooks they got rid of the satisfying skeuomorphic page turn feature. Used to love just fiddling with that pretending to turn pages a bit then letting it fall back. It's Gone.

And the widget system in iOS is a mess. Some stuff shows on this one, some on this pane....

I don’t think it’s an underpowered battery issue. I think it’s a byproduct of having a processor that has a max draw that is so high. There is a cost to having a processor that powerful.

You're literally just completely wrong though. Find any direct comparison anywhere, the iPhone is going to win hands down in every test. Arguing with someone who just says blatantly untrue things to further their agenda isn't going to go anywhere.

What agenda do you think I have?

Really? For example? And I don’t mean cut and paste stuff but like what are “your” individual performance issues since you’ve got all those other, flawless “perfectly operating” speed demon devices?

Am waiting...

In my opinion

1. Samsung S8 is already better looking than iPhone X, S9 should improve the aesthetics even more.
2. So far Android on my S8 runs perfect, Material design is boring, iOS UI looks better but android runs faster. To be hones should wait until the Oreo update and confirm if it makes my device obsolete like iOS does.

I think having a notch just to implement an unlocking system is an overkill. When at home or any secure place my phone is always unlocked, when away from phone I just grabbed and put my finger on the sensor or just a direct look to the iris scanner, none is perfect but it works. Do I need a super facial recognition system on a phone that justifies a weird design? I don’t.

I'm loving Apple fans complaining that the Galaxy series "looks the same". Apple has had the exact same design since 2012 (SE) and 2014 (8). Now THAT is sad.

And I would choose that Apple design over Samsung’s curved screens any day... those curved screens are just utterly pointless for videos and pictures. The iPhone X and Pixel 2 XL designs make much more sense.
In fact the X has the notch, so yeah let’s just say the 2 XL has the most sensible and practical design.

I prefer flat screens. The iPhone X is the first corner to corner screen phone. What’s Samsung’s excuse for a chin?

I prefer a functional notch over a useless fingerprint scanner on the S8 that everyone conveniently ignores.

I used a coworkers S8 and unlocking it with a fingerprint requires repositioning of the hand. Atrocious.

I can give you a quick example before I go to sleep. Apps opening slower in iOS 11 than in iOS 10. And I don’t even just mean “upgrade your phone from 10 to 11 and see it open things slower”. I mean compare an iPhone 7+ on iOS 10 to an iPhone X running iOS 11.

I also get more animation stutters than on Android, but that’s because whenever I pick up an Android Phone I turn those things off. So obviously no animations stutter less than overly long ones.

Oh, also, never said the other things were perfect. Just said iOS 11 is bad. Even Apple knows it.

iOS 11 has it's issues, but please stop blowing things out of proportions.

You’re right. It is totally blowing it out of proportions to expect an iPhone with a 2X processor to actually work better than a Pixel 2XL with the 835. My bad.

So basically same old stuff i have been hearing for years.

I couldn't care less about pixel, but my X works just fine.

Your issue is what? That it isn't faster than every other phone by a wider margin? It's still faster than every other phone, what exactly is it competing with? Where is the invisible bar that suddenly makes you satisfied with its performance? Your argument makes no sense.

The S8 (or any other 835 phone) is better because it's only a little slower than the 8/8+/X? If it were a lot slower the X would be better? I don't get it.

Not to mention the iPhones have gotten faster with every new version of iOS 11 since the first one.
