If I were to ask to switch to a 64 from a 16 and they can not do that, would I be able to walk out with the phone I reserved and come back a different day for the model I would like and exchange it?

Within the return period of course...

If they have the one you want in stock, yes. It's basically a return, then buy the new one.

just called the apple store that i have an appointment for... what a disaster. the csr had NO clue and needed to ask someone else. of course, she didnt have enough intelligence to ask some additional questions to become more informed... i was put on hold each time she had to get an answer. anyhow, according to this genius bar, you can come as early as you want, but cant be more than 15 minutes late or it will go to someone else. WTF?

i talked to a woman in the ATT store because i was curios about how ATT Next work for in store reservations. She said it would not be possible to upgrade on Next at the Apple Store. So then I called ATT customer support and the woman their said that it is possible to do this at an apple store. This reservation process has been not as awesome as i originally thought. Sorry for semi thread jacking but i haven't seen anyone talking about this specifically and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

I've had the exact same issue with AT&T which is why I'm leaving them. Every year, I get misinformation from those twits and I've had it. I have to try the reservation system every day until I can get my wife and I one.

Yeah both my wife and I got them as well :). Guess we are gearing up! 1 more sleep!

Still rocking a 5S so I can't wait to go to the 6S Plus!

Did anyone else reserve more than 2 phones? I reserved 3 so I'm wondering how they'll handle that. I'm guessing I'll just have to choose 2. I got the additional email for all 3 phones so I assume they handle that at the store level.

I got another email this morning. In fact I got 3 over a period of 5 minutes. Same email, same phone (only reserved one).

Got the emails too (2 reserved).

On another note, I just received an email from Apple titled "iPhone 6s. Get it at the Apple Store tomorrow.". I live in NH which is one of the states where there will be no walk-in sales at the store and boy are people going to be disappointed when they show up to try to buy one as such, because nowhere in this email or in the links does it state the 4-states exception.

I don't think it's fair to judge the intelligence of an Apple Store employee just because she didn't immediately have answers to your questions. You ever consider that she might be new to the store and still learning?

I agree. You'll wait for a little while, but the process is more organized than last year bc of the appointment times. This should help a lot, and in any event it will beat lining up for hours and hoping and praying you get what you want.

The email states to bring in your current mobile phone. I'm guessing it says that in case you want help transferring information to the new phone if you actually need help, right?

I'm an authorized user on my dads account (Verizon) and picking up a phone for his line but won't have his phone.

My thought is that they'd just enter the information for the activation and let me leave with the unopened box, which is how they've handled phone sales in the past.

Any thoughts?

I would think it's an option. They're generally flexible if you say you'll take care of the restore at home. I think they're only offering that for people who don't have or want to do the whole process themselves.

Received one as well. Saw a temp charge/hold put on my CC as well. Not sure if for my in-store reservation or for my wife's pre-ordered to ship Rose Gold phone (delivery date in early October).

I imagine the latter. If they wanted to check that you had available credit, I feel like they would've done that when you made the reservation. Especially since the reservation system didn't ask for a credit card, I think it's unlikely that's what it was.

whether it's a new job or not, still learning or not, the way it was handled goes to show that she doesn't know how to think ahead. asking questions to become informed in one of the basics of customer service.

I never realized there was an email that should have been sent out. I made a reservation for in store pickup for the apple upgrade program at midnight on the 11th. I got the confirmation screen, etc. and there were a ton of times available at my local apple store. I was just planning on showing up tomorrow at my time but I never got an email saying anything about my reservation.

Is there a way to log in and see the reservation to confirm or should I just show up tomorrow at 4:00?
