Yeah, the one that you ordered and got the other day is actually the old version as well. They even stated on their facebook page that those were made available for order by mistake on their site. Check to see how your pictures come out with flash use in the dark. I bet you will see very washed out pictures. But hey, if you are fine with that, then more power to you. Obviously Speck is expecting people to be fine with the case as it is. This is why they continue to allow it to be sold by third party vendors and AT&T. They know some will complain, and others won't so at least they will make some money off their already made cases rather than just having to junk them all. Economics 101. ;)

Yes they are. My local store had the cotton dandy the black/pink the purple and the batwing all updated versions.

Thanks for the info. It bugs me though that this case only really has 2 colors for guys and that's the Batwing & Moonsicle.

Is your cutout for the camera/flash oval shaped. That is supposedly what the new design will have. My other cutouts line up perfectly as well, but I certainly have a wash out effect with the flash. Plus, I just got the email yesterday from Speck saying there was another production delay and they will not have the redesigned ones available for another 2-3 weeks. I don't know why they would say that if there are third party vendors out there who have the new cases. :confused: I mean, how could third party vendors have it, and Speck not.
 
Well I picked up the purple version as I already have the black and I think it looks awesome something different....and I am a guy.lol.
 
i had the old version for a couple weeks and just returned / exchanged it today at an att store for the new version. camera hole is bigger (oval style) and dock connector hole is now large enough for aftermarket connectors! i also heard the rubber around the edges has been changed to a more durable quality (not sure if this is true or not)
 
Just got an email from Speck that said they were sending me a GeoMetric instead of the revised Candyshell (at my request). They were really friendly and helpful. Does anyone know if I have to pay the return shipping for the case that is being replaced? Or do I get to keep it?

Also wanted to mention that I got my wife a white Candyshell (with the black ring, not the oval, around the camera lens) and it seems that Speck fixed the peeling of the rubber. She hasn't had any problems with it for the last week and the rubber seems a tad different, more grippy and stronger.
 
No flash issue for me

I've had the black candy shell for about 2 weeks now (the old one) - i've tried various comparison photos in the complete dark with/without the case on to try to replicate the flash problem, and I honestly can't tell the difference. I can see other people are having problems, as the pics earlier in this thread show - but the flash seems to be working fine for me!:) -
Only issue is scratching, but I quite like a bit of wear to show on objects i use a lot (like my jeans) - it adds some unique character
great case!
 
Wrote Speck yesterday about getting the replacement CandyShell and was told it'll be another 1-2 weeks.

really? I was told there is no date at this time and they apologized. A friend was told they will not be able to fulfill the replacement until November! I gave up and am moving on to a different company.
 
I'm getting pissed. Speck should have delivered the revised candyshell to us. It said that the candyshell would be shipping out on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.
 
This is what I received from Janelle just a few minutes ago. I was e-mailing her about both the Pixeldskin HD and the Candyshell. I asked her about the status of the replacement for my Candyshell and here is her response:

We have a HUGE demand for those and we are scrambling to get them. Here is the situation.
AT&T has dibs all on the new cases, so yes you can get the new cases at AT&T but I do not even have them on the Speck website yet. As soon as I get them they will say ADD TO CART and we can replace yours. We have hundreds of people waiting for them.
Of course we will still replace your case in 1-3 weeks or whatever time frame Operations gives me, I do not make this stuff up but the info can change. I am merely the messenger. Operations is working their butts off.
Trust me this making my job way harder!!! I want these more than you!

Hmmm I find that interesting because another guy named Erik from speck told me that the candyshells would be shipped tuesday or wednesday. So one of these two is either A. Lying or B. is getting different information

I saw this exact response in one of the other threads here, but by Erik. This was last week sometime. If people are getting their replacements though finally, I would love to hear about it.
 
I actually e-mailed Erik a week ago and he never responded. I then e-mailed Speck again regarding the Pixelskin HD. Janelle replied to that e-mail. She just e-mailed me now and said that she'll be sending me both the Pixelskin HD and the Candyshell together. So I guess they must have received their stock finally? I won't believe it until I get a tracking number or something! I'm not too upset because the original Candyshell I'm using now is fine now that I Sharpied' the camera hole. I do wish they planned this better operationally so customers aren't waiting a month for a replacement while AT&T has the revised cases in their stores.
 
I hope that is true because it has been a long wait. That would be cool if they did send out a pixelskin hd with the candyshell to everyone that waited
 
I bought the black version today with my iPhone 4. It's the newer version bought from an at&t store. I like the case overall, but with just a few hours of use the back is showing microscratches like mad. I guess that's to be expected from a high gloss piece of plastic. Glad I only paid $20 for it...

I have a black/gray revised version (larger camera & dock connector holes) and the gray rubber on the front side is starting to flake/peel after only a week or so worth of use. Kinda disappointing; I really thought they would have resolved this issue with the revised versions, but apparently not.

I'm wondering if this only affects the black/gray case. Maybe someone else with a different color combo can chime in and let us know...
