I just got the Candyshell but haven't put it on yet, waiting to buy a PS Crystal. I wanted to ask everybody, do you have a back protector as well? I know I want one for the front, but I want to see what everybody has decided for the back. I've been told it might be a tight fit as well if I get the back protector. So what does everybody think? Thanks!

I have a full body clear-coat and it fits into candy shell with no problem.

I also have no problem running with a PS front and rear protector in the candyshell.

Amazon is still selling version 1 (i.e. keyhole cutout for camera).

You can always order version 1 and then email Speck and tell them that you want the updated version - they'll send it to you. It might take a while but you'll get the updated version eventually.

Is this what you guys are asking about? Lower right corner of my case after a day and a half worth of use, in a loose shirt pocket. I'm not happy with this.

Does this occur with the other colors as well or only the black Candyshell?

I received a revised moonsicle white along with a pack of screen protectors. This is after I asked for a Geometric in exchange. Maybe they sent it because the Geometric was revised as well. The black soft rubber may be a different material than the batwing black soft rubber grey. My batwing severely flaked within days. The moonsicle has held up ok so far. Very minor flaking.

I have the white one as well. Does have some minor flaking after just a few days use. Don't know if it will get worse or not, but hoping no. :p

I was going to exchange my Speck Fitted today for the white Candyshell, but after hearing this I will just return it. The flaking will only get worse sad to say

Has anyone tried returning a used old version of the candyshell to AT&T? I have been using my purple candyshell and it is scratched, etc. and I still have the package it came in. Do you think AT&T would swap it out for a new one? Or do you think they would give me my money back? Anyone try this?

Long as you have the receipt and you're within 30 days you can return or exchange it.

Interesting, that's good to know. Unfortunately I am over 30 days. However, i have the packaging and it says "AT&T" right on it. Maybe if I tell them I realized the case was blocking the flash or something

safe case but adds a lot of bulk and my revised version is starting to flake .. and i dont even use this case! .. right out of the box it has the eraser deffect
shieldviews are great with InCase sliders though!

my white replacement should be here today or shortly... very curious how it will hold up. I've been hearing not good in re: to the pencil eraser effect. The white doesn't show scratches/scuffs as much as black so we shall see.

I'm looking at SwitchEasy's Reptile as an alternative...

The Speck Candyshell should be arriving today.......

...well - 2 hours later and my Speck Candyshell in white is happily sitting on iPhone 4 after being delivered by Mr Postie....!

Initial impressions are that its a very slick and good looking case which will provide a great deal of drop protection. Its about the same bulkiness as the Otterbox Commuter (which I had previously) so thats what I'm used to and thats good for me.

The camera cut out seems to have the 'keyhole' design (as opposed to the elongated oval cut-out) so don't really know if this is the old version or the revised version but all in all, don't really use the flash so either way - it works for me.

The only very minor thing I would say about this case is that the Sleep/Wake button at the top does not give a satisfying 'click' when pressed - possibly due to the case being too tight around the top. The volume buttons, however, do provide a 'click' so dunno if its an issue with just my case or not but not really a big enough issue for me to send it back.

On a plus point - I have managed to find a black port cover for the 30 pin dock and also the port cover for the headset jack (which came with an old Switcheasy Capsule Neo case for the iPhone 3G) which seem to fit perfectly with the Candyshell and also match the colour of the white version - a perfect combination......

I got my replacement White last night. I haven't even opened it yet but I do like the looks of it. I'm in no rush to use it. But by this weekend I'll put it on. I also got a PixelSkin HD to boot and a SwitchEasy Reptile coming. Too many cases, not sure which one to use!?

What is specks customer service like?

How easy/difficult is it to get a replacement due to scratching/peeling?

Based on both personal experience and what I've read here, Speck's customer service is top-notch. Just shoot them an email (customerservice@speckproducts.com) with an explanation of what's wrong along with some pics and I'm sure they'll take care of you.

I've got a quick question for those with the invisible shield + candyshell combo. After you guys leave the shielded phone in the candyshell for more than a few days, does the candyshell imprint those dimples/inside holes onto the rear invisibleshield? I've been wondering this, but I haven't seen it specifically addressed anywhere. I want to use the candyshell + zagg combo when I've got a higher risk for drops/need extra protection, and then take the case off and only use the zagg for light usage. I just don't want to use the candyshell and then have my rear shield look nasty because those holes on the inside of the candyshell have imprinted onto the shield. Thanks for the help guys!

This case really works with a screen protector? Seems like a very tight fit, and I would expect it to bubble any front sp. I have 4 cases now and I switch them around frequently, I still like the feel of the candyshell, and I'm considering picking up a white one, but not if the "pencil eraser" effect gets worse over time. Although they are only $20 a pop with my fan at the local at&t store, hmm.

1. The top lip of the candyshell does not overlap my front screen protector. I get zero bubbling or even contact with my screen protector with the candyshell on.

2. I don't get what everyone is so up about on this eraser effect. Been using my candyshell for over a month and I'm just not seeing it. I had a video recorded to post to YouTube but blah, I had a cold and I sounded horrible so I decided to redo it later.
