Installed: Speck CandyShell for iPhone 4

I actually decided not to wait for the Candyshell so they are sending me one called the Geometric instead.

i demand pictures! lol Im really liking that case too but idk about the design on the back I only saw a few pictures of it on ilounge and they didnt say much about it

damn, that must mean they are having mfg issues... not sure what to do. The geometric is a decent case I think. But... anyone else????

I was lookin at PaleMoon Gray CandyShell...
 
Yeah the Geometric looks funky. To be honest I probably wasn't going to use either one, just sell them cheap.

I am a bumper skin guy at this point, it's really all the protection I need. The Candyshell is an tank for protection just more than I need. Who knows maybe I will really like the Geometric case, never even knew about it until the Speck guy mentioned it as an optional replacement instead of waiting. I just wanted something sooner rather than later, I'm impatient.

I'm interested to see what this Geo case is all about and will post pics. They processed my order so I imagine it will be here soon.


Not sure what the hold up is but if they are still 2-3 weeks out they are either behind on production or still trying to redesign and adjust the way they make these cases. It usually isn't always a quick process to change the production line on something, even a plastic phone case.
 
I emailed Eric at Speck today, and asked him how much longer for the revised candyshells. He told me 3 weeks still so I asked to be shipped a Geometric.
 
I'm very glad I opted for the Geometric instead of another Candyshell. This case is awesome. The case feels great in the hand, isn't as bulky and works awesome with a full body skin on the phone. I don't think pics do it justice to be honest, it's one of those you just really have to feel.

hmmmm, not bad! but i want the revised CandyShell in Palemoon Gray if possible. I'll wait. Or maybe I'll buy the Geo! :p

How does it compare to the Candyshell protection wise ? does it have the same texture ?

What is going on with these guys? I received an email from Eric like a month ago that they would send me a new case in 2-3 weeks... :mad:
 
I just e-mailed them to get an update. On 7/12 they said 2-3 weeks. It's been two weeks plus 3 days. Not getting impatient...just would like to know when to expect it.

They probably have told their overseas mfr to hold off on these an pump out the Pixelshield for the freebie from Apple.

EDIT:

Just got my resonse from Erik: Delayed...should be about 2 more weeks.

My $0.02...not a big fan of "about".

my pixelskin still holds up to the task, so not that much of a hurry for the candyshell.

it does bother me though when they a provide time frame that they cannot keep.
 
I just got my black Candyshell from ATT last night. It is the old design...but more importantly the thing scratches like there's no tomorrow! I've had it for less than 24hrs and there's numerous hairline scratches all over the back.

Not happy about this. I do like the protection it provides, but I think ultimately I'm going to return this thing.

So...when the CSR at AT&T asks you for the reason you are returning it you're going to say "it did it's job".

The case's job is to keep your phone from being scratched and damaged...especially this one...it's not a fashion statement or bling for your phone. It is there to protect your phone.

Sillyness.....I tell you...these forums are full of silliness. :eek:

I kinda get it. I wouldn't mine scratched up to hell either. Scratch this off my list of things to keep a eye on.

So its either Otterbox Commuter or Case-Mate Tough case.

This is why I hate Candyshells. They get all scratched up. And fast.
 
Candyshell

I had a CS for my 3GS and it was the best case ever! I am glad to see that you guys are aware of the revision that is going on with the iphone 4 CS. I am waiting to order one as well. I just ordered a Switcheasy Colors for now because I am a case-addict and I liked it with the 3GS.
 
I've had my CandyShell since the second week of owning my i4, the back looks almost gray. that's how many scratches and scuffs it has right now. the rubber part is all falling off now, its not pretty looking at all but I still love it.

What color is this case? The reason I ask is that Speck sells a purple case and a dark blue one, but I can't quite tell from this photo which one you have. I was interested in the dark blue one but if that's what's in this photo then I might go with the light blue one instead.
