I've got a quick question for those with the invisible shield + candyshell combo. After you guys leave the shielded phone in the candyshell for more than a few days, does the candyshell imprint those dimples/inside holes onto the rear invisibleshield? I've been wondering this, but I haven't seen it specifically addressed anywhere. I want to use the candyshell + zagg combo when I've got a higher risk for drops/need extra protection, and then take the case off and only use the zagg for light usage. I just don't want to use the candyshell and then have my rear shield look nasty because those holes on the inside of the candyshell have imprinted onto the shield. Thanks for the help guys!

I have a PS Crystal back, but to answer your question, the dimples weren't noticeable on mine. There were a few, then I took my microfiber cloth, wiped it and no dimples. So I doubt it'll be a problem for you.

I know first hand that the PS Anti-Glare works perfectly with Speck Candyshell. I love the combination.

Side note: I sent an email to speck about my candyshell (flaking), and by the end of the day i had a sales order and my case had been shipped (went with Moonsicle White, i currently have Batwing black). They asked for a receipt and a pic of the flaking. I no longer have the receipt but still kept the box (good for shipping small items). On the box i found the shipping label which has my name, address, order number and date shipped. That was suffice for them and all is good. Speck definitely has great customer service.

Also, for anyone who has Moonsicle White, does it show scratches really bad? I know my black one does, which is why i decided to try white.

I called speck for the same issue. I emailed pictures and copy of receipt. The same day they sent me shipping confirmation.

I picked up the Moonsicle white last night, it's the older version with keyhole camera cutout. That doesn't bother me much as I can't see any flash issues with it. Looks great! Now to find the indigo blue version.

I initially had the black and then got a white as my replacement when they changed the camera cutout. It definitely does not show the scratches any where near what the black does. Yes, it does scratch, but you really won't notice it. Also the fingerprints don't show which is great.

The bad thing however is that it definitely does still flake. In fact, it flakes a lot. As this is already one replacement, I doubt I would be able to get another one so I have just kind of given up on the candyshell. I hardly ever use them because I just can't stand how the flaking looks. :( Oh well.

I was really excited by the beginning of your response then was quickly bummed. Thanks for the response though. Mine should be here in a day or 2. My black one didn't flake too bad, but it is still annoying considering the cost.

Hopefully they start working on finding a better rubber or other substance for the iphone 5 candyshell. This is by far the best case (for me) and if they could fix the flaking it would be perfect.

I agree, I got a white replacement and the scuffing/scratching doesn't show unless you look for them (up close and personal). Has a cooler look than the standard ol black cases everyone has also. A few people already asked me if it was the white iPhone4 :p Rubber still does the eraser effect though

A lot of Cotton Dandy's are out now. Lots of females have that case it seems.

.....flake?!?!??

To be honest - I really don't understand this 'flake' issue that people are reporting on here?!

I also have the white Moonsicle colour and also have the old keyhole cut out around the camera. I have had the case on now for about 1 month and there is absolutely NO flaking on my case whatsover.....

Maybe the flaking is happening on the new design but for me with my old style - no flaking at all....

I just ordered mine, should be in soon but I hope I don't have this issue. I posted earlier asking to see some pics but nobody responded.

I've had flaking, on the corners of the case.

Call don;t email.

I did finally get in contact with Erik. He says because the color I have is an "AT&T Exclusive" they can't replace it. So he will send me one they have in stock. I ended-up just picking one of them. But really, I worry that the replacement will flake. Like you Marc, I love everything the Candyshell offers. If it didn't flake, I really believe we own the best iPhone 4 case. I know everybody loves the Pixelskin HD, but I prefer the plastic back over the softer TPU material.

The Candyshell easily beats the PSHD. Sure it may be thinner, but Not many cases offer the same level of protection as the Candyshell without getting a Ballistic or Otterbox

Yeah, I wouldn't touch a Ballistic or any of the Otterbox cases. I like protection, but not if I'm carrying a brick around. The Otterboxes just make the phones seem like bricks. To me the Candyshell is just right. Not too thick, and not so thin that it doesn't feel like it offers protection.

I have the pixel hd. I think the candy shell provides more protection than the pixel hd.

Besides the flaking which I hope is a manufacturer defect which is solved, what I don't like about the black is that since it's glossy it shows scratches.

For anyone who doesn't have the flaking problem, do you put the phone/case in your pocket at all? I think that is where it happens. By putting the case in your pocket, it rubs going in, while its in there, and on the way out.

With that being said would they be able to apply a coat of something to the rubber on the edges? Or maybe have the plastic cover the edges as well, although that would take away from the aesthetic part of the case.

I'm sorry if i am rambling, but it seems like such a small defect that it should be fixable.

i wonder if they could also offer a matte back that may help with the visible scratches on the black.

I was using a holster with mine and this exactly how the flaking began and continued. I would love to have a Candyshell case, but I do not want one that flakes bottomline.

Yes, I have a leather hip pouch that I put in and out. I'm sure that's why the flaking started. The rubbing against the inside of the pouch. Even though the inside feels like its lined with a velvety material.
