At least if the bottom does snap, we know Speck stands behind their products.

I also have a Pixelskin coming while waiting for a Candyshell replacement.

Does anyone know if the sharpie trick does work?

The bottom piece is thicker and more rugged than the previous 3GS version, it's plastic so it could always break but Speck obviously stands behind their product. Plus when the first one broke you could only tell if you bent it.

I'll test the sharpie trick after I eat. :)

I have the black one and my pictures seem to be fine. But I only took a couple of closeup shots.

I did get them replaced once and got excellent service. All i had to do was take a picture of the case and proof of purchase and they actually sent me 2 cases free lol :D But i think they changed the whole thing now... You gotta like go through a long RMA thing and return the product etc....

Don't think the Sharpie really fixed it much, hope Speck plans on doing more than painting that area.

I didn't get a chance to take a pic without the Sharpie.

Not horrible by any means but there is a slight haze.

Exactly the type of company we wish some other were. :)

I also want to voice my pleasure with Speck Customer Service. They are responsive to emails (almost instantaneous) and really want to please their customers. They are accommodating a lot of us. This is a kind of company I want to support. There are not many companies that operate like this. I have used Speck products in the past and yeah my old CandyShell did break and I never knew they would have (or still would) replace it with no prob.

A lot of the i4 cases are "off" (from fit to the flash issue) and Speck is stepping up to the plate and making us customers feel warm and fuzzy. I will continue to support them and make my wife buy a CandyShell once they become available again! :D

ATT Online still has some speck in stock. I ordered the black/grey one - lets see if I have a issue when it comes in.

i'm really considering this and the incipio case (the one with siliconE and hard plastic shell). unfortunately they are both sold out..
can't seem to find any att store here in san francisco that has them in stock..

AT&T finally shipped my Candyshell, it will be here today.

I'm still processing (though I only ordered last night) on Premier. Not sure if it will make a differance, though it was nice to get free FedEx shipping and a 25% discount :D

I hope its a decent case - I just don't feel comfortable w/ only the bumper on my phone. This is a expensive gadget and I see too many cracked screens already. I HAVE dropped mine w/ the bumper on it (and it survived), but I'm not willing to tempt fate.

This IS an amazing case if protection is what you're after. I love me some bumper action but after having the Candyshell on I feel like I could throw this thing out the window and it would survive.

Rubber interior for impact protection, hard plastic outside for easy in and out of pocket and durable shell. It's a great case, bulky, but if protection is your concern, this baby will take care of bidness.

What do people make of the before and after pics I took with the Sharpie trick?

What color is yours? I'm wondering if the sharpie trick is needed for any of the darker cases (like the one I ordered).

I ordered the Black/Grey combo Speck Candy Shell from AT&T as well and got confirmation that is shipped yesterday, 6/29/10 via USPS. The offer via the AT&T site was for two day shipping so I am hoping that the case arrives tomorrow as promised and I can get some test fit photos as well as a few pics myself to see how the flash is truly affected.

This will be my first Candy Shell case but I thought of the early options it was my best since their products associated with the 3G and 3GS were so highly regarded. I will have to wait and decided it I think its too bulky for my tastes once it has arrived.

Is the iP4 Candy Shell still very difficult to remove as it was with the 3G? I had one for my 3G and I liked it a lot, but there were times when I had to remove it from the phone and it was not easy for me. So I ended up using a different case for my 3G.

Give it a chance. At first you'll be like "whoa, this thing is a tank"

The more you hold it and adjust to it then it doesn't feel quite as bulky.

I will admit the pics I'm seeing a naked phone and a Candyshelled phone is giving me pause .... though my order is in so at this point its adjust or return it to ATT.

I'm sure a Otterbox case would be just about as thick. Otterbox is what I really want, but they will not be available for some time.

I returned my Candyshell yesterday. I'll wait for more cases to release later after this flash issue has been fixed. Until then I'm rocking my IS & Bumper.

I just got my PixelSkin as replacement until the redesigned candyshell comes out. Man, this is the best rubbery case I have seen !! I will post picutres late on

Wow It much really affect all the cases.... The case manufactures are going to have to redesign them all over again :X

For what it's worth, I have the Rocketfish dark pink TPU case from Best Buy and there's 0 effect from the case on pics taken with flash. They look identical. So it's not all cases that are affected, but there does seem to be an alarming number of them that are.

The pixelskin is way better quality than the rocketfish...

do you guys like the pixelskin more than candyshell (glare aside)?

How does the thickness compare?
