take a sharpie and black out that bevel that surrounds the opening for the camera and flash (obviously while it's not on your phone) and the flash problem will be resolved

So I figured out how to get a free case.

Step 1: buy a candyshell from atnt
Step 2: take a picture of the receipt and and contact speckproducts about the flash issue and they will send an email back requesting a pic of the receipt so they know what color case to give you when the revamped candyshells are available.
Step 3: return case to atnt and wait for speck to
Ship out their revamped case :)

Enjoy fellas..'btw I'm currently using and incipio feather and I love ot

I figured out how to get a free case too.
1) Go to AT&T
2) when no one is looking steal a case
That is exactly what your idea is, except instead of outright stealing you are doing it a back way and actually costing companies more money (shipping x2, and two cases). Plus why abuse a system that is so uncommonly good to its customers? Christ it is your mentality that is destroying America; all take, no give.

not cool.

besides I believe they will want the "defective" case sent back to them in order for you to get the "newly designed". postage paid for by Speck of course...

So I got my Speck Candy Shell case in yesterday and today is the first day the phone has been residing in the case. So far I love it! The case is extremely solid, fit is tight, and this thing provides some serious protection for those worried about their brand new iPhone 4.

I too was really worried about the bulk that the Candy Shell would add, but to be honest it isn't anything over the top. You get used to the size really quickly, and I actually prefer the extra size which makes it a more comfortable fit in your hand for browsing the web, texting, etc. I do have the flash problem as well, Sharpie did not really fix it, but I have e-mailed Speck to report the problem with my case as well.

A couple other small gripes, the ring/vibrate switch on the iPhone 4 is much smaller than in previous models and you have to use your smaller fingers and nails to get into the little slot they built to access the switch. My thumb can't get in there to flip the slider so you just have to use your nail and a smaller finger to get to it.

Last gripe is that the headphone port isn't completely centered over the headphone jack on the iPhone. If you look at it from the top of the phone with the glass towards you, the Apple headphone jack is just so slightly to the right of the hole. With an already smaller hole for headphones, this may lead to some issues with getting complete contact when plugging in a headphone cable.

Overall though I am completely happy with my Candy Shell so far, and look forward to hearing from Speck about a replacement case which fixes the flash issue.

I did order an Incipio Feather which arrives today which I plan on trying for something which is the complete opposite of the protection that the Candy Shell provides. I have a feeling the Feather is going to be a little too minimal in protection for me but I will give it a try. I have also ordered an Apple Bumper to try out that as well and see how I like it.

Anyone else having complete ADD on a decision for a case? At least all the cases are returnable when I finally decide!

Got the black/gray one and a freaking LOVE it! I had that lame purple iFrogz case on it for the last week, waiting for AT&T to get these in stock to exchange. It didn't give me any feeling of safety at all. This candyshell feels like the phone will actually survive a fall now. I did contact Speck to get in line for the updated flash solution. It doesn't concern me too much as I rarely need a flash. I'd have no problem drilling out the hole to make it bigger, but probably won't bother.

Such a relief not feeling like my phone will be destroyed by the slightest bump.

Bah, just got my CandyShell.

When trying to put it on, the plastic and rubber popped apart on one of the corners. A little Crazy Glue could fix it, but I'd have to take the iPhone out and it seems to be a total pain to get it out of the case now.

And only after a few hours of use, the extra-glossy surface is getting covered in microscratches and scuffs.

This is barely going to last me its 30-day return policy.

So far I've tested the Griffin Reveal (weak and thin bumper), the iFrogz (ugly design and what's with the protruding circular latch?!), the Apple bumper (no rear protection, can't use third-party charge/sync cables with thicker plastics), and Body Glove (cheap plastic, nearly impossible to remove, tears up my IS screen protector).

The search continues...

I just called the local at&t store and they put aside a speck case for me. I wanted to know if any of you have an invisible shield installed and using the speck. Does it bubble the invisible shield? Does the case affect the screen protector in any way?...I had a speck candyshell on my 3GS since day 1. There the best cases IMO!

That thing is so bulky it looks like you got 2 mophie juice packs in one on the darn thing. lol

I have a front/back IS on my phone and have no problems with the candyshell. There is a thread about people having the full body (including side) IS on their iPhone 4 and no problems with the candyshell as well. I think you will be fine as long as your IS is pretty much centered and installed straight and allowed to dry/cure for a proper amount of time.

Thank you. I installed my IS and my boys IS but he rushed to put on a case and messed his up. I keep my iP4 in a Sena leather pouch and its fully cured. I just dont want to have to order another because most cases, even when IS is cured, mess up the IS.

for mine NO. i posted pics somewhere here... you are lucky most ATT stores are not carrying them right now.

Also while at a local ATT store they told me that there are no more CandyShells in inventory and they got word they are backordered till August.

Has anybody received further updates about the revised Candyshells?

I just ordered my 4 tonight and they had the black/grey in stock so I went ahead and ordered it.

I havent heard anything about the revised cases yet. I sent them flash pics etc and they are sending me a new case. I also sent them an additional email regarding the soft rubber bezel flaking. They replied and said it would all be fixed.

Anyone else experience this?

The soft rubber is flaking on my case too. I just hope it's all improved with the next CandyShell they release. I'm glad they decided to revamp it.

I noticed that as well before I returned my case. It was flaking simply from me taking the case in and out of my holster.
