It's sort of pathetic. Either way, you'll notice the age old saying is true: android fools think more about Apple than Apple users think about android.
There's more to talk about with iPhone than there is with Android because Apple has long yet to realize the full potential of a mobile OS while Android is quite frankly, farther ahead in terms of the basics. I mean, come on, you guys JUST got the ability to attach files in the email client and upload via the browser. You guys can't deny iOS is behind. You simply can't, but you guys manage to do so anyway via some warped reasoning.

And I have to add that iPhone users generally don't think about anything beyond iPhone because they aren't allowed to think past iPhone.

I was responding mainly to Calidude's post, but sure, what you're saying is probable and even likely.

So what?

As for myself, I was a former 4 and 4S user, and an Apple fan in general (iPad/Macs), so Apple and the iPhone are always on my radar. Still enjoy discussing it and seeing what they unveil. There's also an obscene amount of ignorance and obfuscation of Android here, which is worth addressing, especially since there's a better OS lying in wait after you lift the fog.

Just making a point. Nothing more than that...

I agree; use what you want and like. I think the back/forth discussion of what's good/bad with either platform is good. But it always gets into snarky, and derogatory comments. Calling people sheep, or insulting their intelligence because they happen to like one piece of technology over another...

I don't care to get too involved, and it's, of course, your choice, but I don't see why you bother with Technarchy and his ilk. You're obviously talking past them. Ultimately, whatever shortcomings iOS has, they must think they are non-issues or worth dealing with for its advantages. It's really their loss/gain.

In the mean time, for those who do their research about Android devices, ICS/JB will continue to propel Android forward at a much faster rate than iOS is moving.

Of course, argue away if you'd like, but I think it's falling on deaf ears. Oh well.

^^^ THIS!

This is what I was talking about in a response to another poster. Just make your point why you feel Android is a better fit for you, and some examples. But you can't; not with out making a comment about how users don't think beyond, because they aren't allowed to think. Like they're incompetent? Did you ever stop to think that some of the things you feel are important, or are deal breakers, aren't that important to others?

If somebody isn't listening to reason, then its only natural that people begin to discuss WHY that is so. It may not seem nice to do so, but its the logical step to take.

I think with Apple, its not that people don't find some things important but rather, Apple has clouded their judgment as to what they think. If Apple had done things the Android way, and Google had done things the iOS way, Apple users would be criticizing Android phones in the way that Android users criticize iPhones.

Apple. Jobs himself said that people don't know what they want so you have to show them, and this is quite apparent here. There's a lot of emotional manipulation going on, and people don't want to admit it.

I think you're the one drinking the Kool-Aid. If you have that much allegiance for either camp, there's something wrong. Last I checked a phone is a tool. I use mine to make calls, text, browse the web a bit, and take some pics. My life doesn't revolve my electronics.

Statements like yours aren't making people listen to reasoning. They're just opinions...

I'd dump Android just like I did iOS, just for the record. Allegiance to any phone is ridiculous, as I've made very clear with my criticism of Apple's emotional manipulation over people.

That's funny considering you're the one displaying highly emotional, near psychotic behavior with the perpetual trolling.

Ah yes, just one of those WTF? moments when I realized my 4s couldn't even do something so simple. Also, the inability to download an MP3 and set it as a ringtone without having to go thru iTunes. Too many of those WTF? moments for me.

Regarding email attachments, I thought it was just for pictures and not any file. Don't have iOS 6 yet but that's what someone mentioned before. Very limiting! Why Apple??

Honestly man you are pathetic. I've been a long time lurker on this forum. Just a few months ago you were praising your 4S and slamming Android. Now it's the reverse. You feel the need now to post throughtout the day about how terrible iOS is and how superior Android is. You are honestly a borderline Android troll on this forum, and it's especially funny because you were a huge Apple fanboy just a few months ago.

Download mp3's and set ringtones? I honestly doubt most consumers feel the need to download mp3's directly onto their phones. One you get said mp3 onto your iPhone (iTunes is pretty painless) there are apps that will easily make it into a ringtone.

Jealously is hate and envy at the same time. That pretty much sums up the android community when it comes to iOS.

Without reiterating what others have said about tarring an entire community with the same brush, I personally bought my Galaxy S3 outright, so if I wanted an iPhone I could've gotten it easily enough!

Just rename any .m4a file to .m4r, double click the file to add it to iTunes library, then sync.

Don't need any app but iTunes and windows explorer/whatever file explorer!

I'm sticking with the iPhone because it works for me. I have never had any issues with any of my iPhones and it run so smooth and apps rarely crashes. I just don't know what more I need it to do, if anything I would like to have unlimited data but that's not the iPhones problem. Now would I like a bigger screen? Sure but not 4.8".

I think you go with what fits your life, I like my Apple products. I am a graphic artist and work on the Mac so it just seems to fit with my life. I also have the AppleTV and love AirPlay plus I have the iPad so most of the time when I buy App it works with it too. I do jailbreak so I do get more than the non-jaibreaker and enjoy messing with tweaks.

But I definitely know there are other great phones and some beat the iPhone in certain areas but those certain areas aren't worth switching for me. But if it is for you, go for it, new toys are fun but just weigh the pros and cons.

Exactly how I feel and I'm in the same boat as you. I have an iPad, iMac, Apple tv and everything ties in seamlessly. However, I did let my curiosity get the best of me and bought an HTC One X. Figured I had 30 days to try it out and can always return to my iPhone 4s if needed. I wound up returning the One X two days later, not because it isn't a good phone which it is. The screen is beautiful and it runs very smooth, but it just didn't fit my life. I realized after messing around with the One X, how convenient the iPhone was for me in terms of synching with all my products and to be honest it does everything I need it to do and it does it flawlessly.

Having said that, I know the gap has closed between the iPhone and Android devices and some Andoid devices like the Nexus, SG3 and HTC One X even surpass it in certain areas. But for me, the iPhone does the job. Competition is stiff right now and in the end we as consumers benefit.

This is what the iPhone forum on MBR used to be like. Lets hope it returns to this sometime soon!

What the hell are you talking about? Apple's emotional manipulation over people?? Haha
I've been an Apple customer for 5 years now and I'm pretty sure I have stuck with Apple because their products fit my lifestyle and do everything I need and not because I've been "emotionally manipulated" by a company. SMH

Being interested in phones and tech in general is no different than being interested in restoring classic cars. Or any of the thousands of other interests/hobbies. Everyone has their own interests. To each their own. And whose to say they don't have multiple hobbies? Your suggestion could be applied to any hobby.

Point taken.
My intent wasn't to offend. Just thinking back to simpler times, when a phone was just a phone, and not a pocket computer/entertainment center. I think that the smart phone is, in human terms, in many ways a step back. If you've ever nearly been side-swipped or rear-ended by someone using one while driving, you'll understand. If you've ever tried to carry on a conversation with someone checking email, etc., ditto. Sorry to sound like a Luddite.

This. Look what I found from April. Lol.

I am not some iPhone fanboy. I actually hated the iPhone and have had 7 Android phones over the past 3 years. Before you go running off to Android, you may want to think about its biggest problems. Not getting your device supported or updated for starters. You got a problem? Google doesn't care, neither will your carrier. They are in too big of a hurry trying to rush out the next version of the OS (that your phone will never see) or too busy trying to market their new phone to snag new contracts. There are currently 1443 Android phones (let that sink in a minute) and do you know how many are running the newest OS thats been out for over 5 months? THREE phones and one of those actually launched with it. What a pathetic joke. 65% of those phones will never even see the update because the phone is either no longer supported (although within their 2 year contracts still) or no longer capable of running the OS. The vast majority of those phone are stuck on an OS TWO years old and can't even download the newer apps from the market or get a fix for their problems.

You bring up a very good point actually. As much as the cell phone has evolved in terms of basically being a computer in our pockets, people (not everyone) have become so reliant on it and in some ways it is a detriment. For example..instead of remembering phone numbers, directions etc. we now rely solely on our smartphones to do everything for us. Again, I'm not saying everyone but it is a fact of life in the world we live in now. In the streets how many people do you see walking with their heads down oblivious to their surroundings. When I was a kid I was constantly outside playing with friends and socializing. A lot of kids (adults also) today are glued to their phones and the interaction is just not there anymore like it used to be. Can't imagine what it's going to be like 20 years from now.

My sentiments exactly. I realize that it's none of my business, but I sometimes find the sight of people absorbed in their devices on the street, in their cars, etc. slightly annoying, if not depressing. As for 20 years from now, I will be (mercifully) spared that.
