i'm also on his side when it comes to the whole speeding issue, but first of all, he jumped the gun — no one made the comments he was referring to yet, secondly — there is no need to overcomplicate things. this is the kind of person who gets a speeding ticket and claims it was an inside job...Omg I was on his side but this made me LMFAO
if i’m not mistaken waze is 3 taps in ios (just like apple maps)Until Apple maps has the ability to report an issue with 2 taps of the screen without having to pay too much attention to it, it will never be on par with Waze.
Yes there is Siri, but Siri doesn't always pick you up when you're driving at speed, or with the window or roof down.
It makes no sense for it to be restricted to an active route, or hidden behind a convoluted menu system.
Just checked, Waze on CarPlay is 2 taps for things like police or accident report. I could do that with no pre-loaded route set while sitting in my work car park.if i’m not mistaken waze is 3 taps in ios (just like apple maps)
one for the input
one for the type
one for the submission or “later”
the only difference is you have to open your navigation tray in apple maps to click the button.
agree on it not being directly in your face but it requires the same amount of taps to get the job done.
Last year even though people spent less time driving, traffic deaths increased. Speeding was the number one reason. Do some basic research before leaving comments.

Traffic deaths rose 8% in 2020, even as Americans drove fewer miles during pandemic
The National Safety Council estimates said that 42,060 people died in vehicle crashes in 2020, an 8% increase over 2019.www.usatoday.com
isn’t the carplay taps for this feature in apple maps 2 taps as well? IIRC it’s not in the menu like ios but on the right side of the screen.Just checked, Waze on CarPlay is 2 taps for things like police or accident report. I would love to get rid of Waze purely for the very childish (imo) UI. That being said, their event reporting and speed limit alerts are superior to anything out there at the moment.
For all Apple is a company that wants to make things seamless, adding in extra steps for something that is to be done while driving seems like they've dropped the ball big time.
Every extra step trying to navigate a menu while driving is an extra step towards a possible accident.
Waze has just 2 million more monthly users than Apple Maps with 25 million monthly users compared to 27 for waze. For these features to work effectively you need scale of users. I know no one who uses Apple maps. Waze all the way
Actually politicians decide them. If engineers decided them, they would be higher.lol , the speeds are not just made up. a traffic engineer decides them. they are based on exits and onramps , merging lanes , the areas in all weather conditions.
I think if your caught speeding 3 times you should permanently loose your license , you're clearly not responsible to follow road safety.
You can actually use Siri to do it if you don’t have an active route. It only works in active route.
what , no they don't. I have worked in the local road engineering department and they most certainly do it. you seriously think politicians are sitting around a table arguing about speed limits....LOL!Actually politicians decide them. If engineers decided them, they would be higher.
It does cover apps according to the press reports I have read.Doesnt cover apps AFAIK
Speed limits are created by legislation. Your politicians decide them. Road engineers don't have the authority to post legal signs on the side of the road. You're also from Canada, not from the U.S so why bother arguing with me? This new maps feature does not apply to Canada and we have different laws.what , no they don't. This is the most important thing to note. I'd love to use Apple Maps instead of Waze for the privacy aspect, but I'd be the only one doing it. Few people use Waze in-town where I live, so I'd guess Apple Maps reports would be nonexistent. For these features to work effectively you need scale of users. I know no one who uses Apple maps. I didn’t know laws in the US and Canada were made the same way. At least according to you this is the case.100 km/h speed limits everywhere… not a soul going under 120 and most much faster than that. I think your statement applies to Canada just fine…
You can use Siri to report stuff.Exactly. Is there a way to at least report this stuff using voice commands?
It would be better for you legally if you could neither confirm nor deny.Yes, this is absolutely true. It's unbelievable really. They're still at Carmarthen roundabout![]()

Sometimes we have to be bold to effect change. It would be better for you legally if you could neither confirm nor deny.
