Maybe this bug is directly related to the 'csam' scanning software.
Apple spent too much time on the scanning software to check the quality of iOS 15.
Yes that is what happened. They fired all the engineers and spent this money on the next season of The Morning Show?
If so, as an engineer I really don't see the future in their products for me and my work.
Seriously, this bug probably has to do with the pre-work for that new feature.Maybe it's part of the local scanning feature to just up and delete whatever pictures it freakin wants
Have you used an Android phone? I'm soon ditching iPhones cause of Apple's pic scanning and general Big Brother attitude, but I don't expect Android to be nice.Few years ago if you was to say Android is more stable than iOS you would have got laughed off the Planet, not anymore Android is now the better platform to be on for stability.
I think their whole mistake is that, as you wrote, they ignore bugs that a regular user may not pay special attention to. They do not work for you or me, they only work for the general public and for what they need. There is no longer that creative approach to creating products or software, Google really looks more technologically advanced in this regard.Few years ago if you was to say Android is more stable than iOS you would have got laughed off the Planet, not anymore Android is now the better platform to be on for stability.
I don't know what going on at Apple you can't blame the Pandemic because iOS has been buggy for the past few years now, & what really grates me is Apple pick & choose what bugs to fix or ignore as there were still a few annoying bugs in iOS 14 that never got fixed, also not forgetting the security holes they also decided to ignore until it got published about them.
Apple is becoming a joke shoddy built unreliable hardware & unstable buggy software, you expect this from a small startup company or some shady Chinese company, not a trillion dollar one.
Apple knows they have dedicated followers that will continue to support Apple not matter what, & alot of people that buy Apple aren’t tech savvy so don't have a clue.
Then you got the the influencers these are the worst by far that dare not say a bad thing about Apple, & blatantly ignore the ongoing issues with both Apple hardware & software, in case they get blacklisted by Apple & don't get future review products.
This is why I'm now moving away from Apple it's a company that can no longer be trusted to give you both reliable hardware & software, because all they bothered about is the dollars rolling in nothing else.
Good motivation for engineers to develop a good new update, when sales from their software are spent on the next season of The Morning Show.Yes that is what happened.
What Google did to Inbox was a counterexample. It was a more feature-rich version of Gmail they killed just because it didn't have enough users (1.5M or whatever it was, wasn't enough to them). They only cared about regular users there. They seem to think the same way with other products they kill.I think their whole mistake is that, as you wrote, they ignore bugs that a regular user may not pay special attention to. They do not work for you or me, they only work for the general public and for what they need. This could be a classic case of the phenomenon: "Rosy retrospection." However, I'm leaning towards the camp of "worst iOS release ever."It’s understandable that Apple needs to innovate each year, but things are not always hanging together very well. New .0 releases (despite the beta testing) seem to be incomplete with promised functionality introduced at a later time. Maybe I’m misremembering but I don’t recall the earlier iOS releases 4 - 6 being so problematic.
Getting very 90s Apple vibes with everything going wrong this year.
They need a quality assurance team again instead of relying on public testers.
Got rid of my iPhone 12 due to bugs & bought a S21 Ultra back in July, and the phone been brilliant not a single problem with it, plus it just got the October update even before the Pixel phones.Have you used an Android phone? You've only had it a few months. The usual problems my coworkers complain about have to do with lack of support, both via lack of updates as expected but also really poor technical support should anything go wrong.Got rid of my iPhone 12 due to bugs & bought a S21 Ultra back in July, and the phone been brilliant not a single problem with it, plus it just got the October update even before the Pixel phones.
