Check out this strange glitch I encountered while ordering a jalapeños Bagel 🥯.

After closing the safari app it went away but still 🤷🏻‍♀️

Goodness my friend. I am going have to call up somebody at Apple and tell them to give you a break. You are having too many problems with your iPhone. They need to do better for you.😊

Now all emails on my iPhone display as “This is a multi-part message in MIME format” followed by code. Yuck. Any ideas???
I have the same issue on my iPhone 11 pro max. Yours is the only other report I’ve seen of this problem. Anyone else?

Sent my first email since installing the beta and it just appears as a ton of code.

Incoming emails all display fine, but the one that I sent is a mess. This used to happen with official versions of iOS 16…force quitting and reopening the Mail app would fix the issue. However, that’s not working this time.

iPhone 14 Pro. Exchange email account.

Is there a setting I’m unaware of to prevent iOS updates from downloading over cellular?

The last few updates have presented me with a choice to allow downloading over cellular at the time of update, but this beta of 16.4 didn’t give me that choice. Later that night I noticed my cellular network had pulled down 5GB of data so my best guess is that it downloaded the update that way. I did also notice the update was really slow to download but I figured the servers were getting hammered.

Anyway, curious if any of you have experience with this.

It seems to be a recent bug, I've also been experiencing it since iOS 16.0. There's a thread here:

High usage of software update over cellular?

Work your Magic! But I think I may use and abuse my iPhone but I paid hefty price for it so why not!!

You may well have overheated the sensor with that many photos. That could lead to the type of problems you’re having.
Any reference for that? There is evidence that constant GPS use can heat up a mobile device, - and I can imagine that if you would constantly take geo-tagged photos every second for 25 minutes (that´s about the number given by @TheYayAreaLiving 🎗) the phone indeed will get warmer. Or if you are in a place with e.g. an ambient temperature already around or above 35°C… in any case the iPhone will/should for example dimm down (or even black) the display or disable the camera flash - forgot about the flash as a source for heating up the iPhone 🤓.

Yes, I know, it’s the beta and strange things happen… in any case - if the pano-function is continuously affected, it might be worth to reset the camera settings (sadly there is no individual reset for that, you have to go via Reset All Settings, which will require to reconfigure network/keyboard/apple pay/location settings afterwards).

NordVPN seems to be unreliable on this beta. It occasionally does not show me as connected to wifi, even though I am or pages stop loading because the wifi is indeed dropping but mobile data does not seem to work in those moments either

my 13 pro turned off unexpectedly tonight. Due to the time when the graph of the battery charge stopped appearing, which will be the moment of shutdown, it should be doing the backup in iCloud and something should have gone wrong there. my first, and hopefully last, unexpected shutdown.

I’m not sure why I need to provide a citation to what seems to be a relatively uncontroversial statement. But since you asked:

It is well known in the DSLR community that high frame rate shooting can lead to camera sensor overheating. See this article about Panasonic cameras: https://www.cined.com/cameras-and-overheating-discussion-with-panasonic/

The laws of physics were not repealed for iPhone cameras. The same issues are at play, with some additional factors leading to the potential for more overheating, namely the small space in which the cameras and their components are situated as well as more processor intensive photo features introduced this year in the new phones.

1500 photos in one day is a huge load on the camera sensor and image signal processor (ISP). That would be over 60 photos an hour or more than 1 per minute if you did nothing for 24 straight hours but take photos. I am assuming that our friend @Theyayarealiving did not spend 24 straight hours taking one photo per minute, but rather took them in a much shorter time frame (guessing 4-6 hours), many perhaps in burst mode. So that’s 4+ pictures per minute on average for nearly a quarter of a day. And likely more concentrated than that.

If those photos were ProRaw, the burden on the sensor/ISP would be exponentially higher given the tremendous number of pixels being processed and the intensity of the processing.

In my opinion, if the shooting was at that kind of tempo, there’s absolutely no question you could see some artifacts or misprocessed photos. Even more if video was shot as well using Cinematic mode or the stabilization mode.

For giggles, here’s what AI thinks of this issue: https://www.craft.do/s/atd47RgQf1NTUw

My Home setup has stopped recognizing when I'm "home" and the issue has affected my automations. Anyone else having any similar issues on this beta? I did upgrade a while back to the new Homekit architecture, but it w worked without any issues until the most recent 16.4 update.

Not sure if this is a beta issue or previously existed. If someone can shed light on this either way kindly let know. Thx.

iPhone and iPad are on beta. MBP is not.

With the upcoming new Dev req to get dev beta I decided to be a proactive person and check everything on my Dev id. I have two - call then Dev and Norm. in almost all cases I use Norm on the iPhone and iPad. I use Dev only if I am actively working on a Dev item on my MBP.

Logged into my Dev on the iPad. Got the dreaded "incorrect password" error. OMG. Went to the MBP and logged in. Password is correct. Hmmm. Decided to go ahead and update my password. Easy peasy.

Logged into my iPad and got the little red ball telling me I needed to fix something in Settings. Yep - password for Dev ID.
1. Please enter password for Dev. Done.
2. Please enter pin for iPad. Done.
3. Please enter pin for iPhone. Huh? It allows a 6 digit pin and I have an 8 digit pin. So I just started typing my 8 digit pin and after 6 digits it ... worked. Okay. Wow.

Never saw this before. Maybe something new tied to the upcoming beta req change?

Yup randomly says my cameras are set to record as everyone has left home. In fact it just did it 3 mins ago. Have to restart my phone and watch to get it back.

I’m not having good experiences when using handoff between iPhone and HomePod. It’s pretty busted.

Mine must have shutdown overnight, as I woke up this morning to the usual, you must enter your password after the phone reboots message.

its generally your unlock code for iPhone, not PIN

FYI- You can have both Apple ID's on your iPhone/iPad.
I have my normal ID logged in for iCloud/App Store, etc then just log in my 2nd id under email/iCloud.

This isn't a beta specific bug because it's been around since the first iOS 16 beta, but occasionally, the "done" button would disappear from the keyboard. Does this happen to anyone else? It's difficult to report it because I don't know how to reproduce it.

With every new release I am hopeful but this 🤬 still has not been fixed after multiple years and multiple complaints via the Feedback App. At one point it even listed it as „more than 10 reports“ on my case in the Feedback app.

I also just deleted all photo attachments from Messages on my Mac and 10 minutes later, photos from LAST YEAR magically re-appear. Those have been deleted a long time ago. What the heck

Update to this: now, hours later, the two photos I could not delete earlier have magically disappeared but wait ... now photos start appearing on the same iMessage threat that were not there earlier and have already been deleted weeks ago like WHAT THE F

Unlock code/pin on my 13PM is 8 digits.
Other than FaceID I do not have anything else set.

Going to experiment a bit on the id.
