CarPlay music is still having hiccups. Removed my iPhone 17 PM again and set it up again like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. No difference. BMW 118, 2 years old. unbelievable 🙄

iPhone Air

Apps that use WiFi live are randomly freezing with a no-WiFi error message even WiFi is live and other devices having no issue. Ran Net-Analyzer when this occurs and it is showing little to no signal on the Air even though the status bar shows full strength.

Left the iPad Pro 11 on 26.4 and am not seeing the issue there for the same apps. Just the Air on 26.5b1

I have older BMW from 2017 and im not having problems with music in carplay but I use Spotify. What I can definitely see is that with iPhone 17 Pro on iOS26 carplay is not as smooth as compared to my 13PM on iOS17. Sometimes it takes solid 2-3 seconds to register a single touch and just moving around is laggy. It's either iOS26 or some compatibility issues between older hardware and the new N1 chip. My friend's carplay in a 2019 BMW with iPhone 14 on iOS18 works the same as my 13PM on iOS17.

Might be a bug: constant folder redrawing when waking from sleep.
I had it the first few times after the install. I did let all the apps install, then did another reboot. It seems to get better, but the redraws still seem to happen for a bit after coming out of sleep or reboots.

For those of you who are brave enough, or stupid enough (like me) to use dictation, does anyone find it more reliable on this release? Compared to 26.4 it does seem to a little bit improved… still garbage as is all of Apple’s software these days (IMO), but nevertheless, a slight improvement.

I dictated all of the above, and it only messed up five times!

I’ve learned a while back not to use iOS/iPadOS for this. I do test it each beta and it has not improved.

it works perfectly but it took me 20 min to connect it. Reinstall it in your car. I had a lot of problems on all 26.4 betas, but now it works. (Nissan Juke)

CarPlay working fine on a wired connection between a 2020 4Runner and a 17 Pro. Obviously every combination of vehicle make model and phone model is different for everyone.

I have wiped my phone , restored data PM 15 and Face ID works for 3-6 times and stops working , I have disabled at this point , using my password only . After rebooting my phone it works maybe 2-5 times depending on the reboot and after its game over in and won’t read my face . Nothing works, this is a beta 1 issue on 15 pro max 256 gb T-Mobile USA iPhone

I just wish they would let us disable the accelerometer effects without completely disabling all motion or turning on low power mode.

The accelerometer based effects like the icon highlights aren't consistent all over the OS. Some things get it like the dock, icons and App Library but other things do not such as notifications and other buttons throughout the OS.

Everything is working well for me: Laptop, Phone, Tablet, Watch and TV

I'd imagine much focus is going into a good '27 release, with Apple AI incorporated across various areas. No unusual complaints on the beta process from me, things have been stable.. changes have slowed down.. and I'm eager for what's to come in a few short months!

Does it finally enable notification forwarding and does it finally send alarm notifications to a non Apple Watch?
Yes. In this beta version, notification forwarding is fully functional for me.
It works with the Huawei Watch Fit 4 and Toyota Touch.
With the Huawei, I can choose which app to forward notifications from or allow all apps.
With the Toyota Touch, I can only enable notifications.
In beta 26.4, there was an option in the menu, but no other settings.
