I seems very strange that you can't stream video you shot on your iPhone to an AppleTV with airplay. I would have thought that would be a basic feature that lots of people would want. Anyone manage to do it yet?

Same thing happened to me. When my iPhone 4 was connected it showed the content but the iPod wouldn't show it. I just hit the "Sync" button again and all was right with the world

Sync Speed faster?
my iPad takes FOREVER to backup. Let it run for 7 hours today to see if I could get it backed up and I finally killed it. I sync it all the time but have not been able to back it up for months.
Does 4.2 fix this?

Ok, so I double tap and it brings up the apps running (kinda like Task Finder in Windows)....fine. But if I swipe to the left it brings up the iPod app and the volume controls. What the hell? What's the point? Why just have that one app when you do one action. I don't get it, it's not intuitive (so do the volume controls just work for the iPod app or for other apps?), and it's HORRIBLE interface design.
Someone please enlighten me as to what the point of this 'screen' is.

I'm trying to update my iPad to 4.2 from 3.2, it downloaded the software in itunes but now it gets stuck at "Verifying iPad update with Apple..." for a couple minutes and than the error comes up "The iPad cannot be updated at this time because the iPad software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable"... is apple having some issues?
You can't do it. Amazingly enough for some insane reason they did not give us the ability to stream videos from our camera rolls.
I'm having the same problem with my iphone i get this message every time i try to install the upgrade.

You still have it, it's just accessed in a different place.
Personally I like Apple's choice. I use rotation lock, but I don't turn rotation lock on and off frequently enough to need a dedicated hardware switch for it. I find having a quick way to mute the device to be more frequently useful. I can reach into my bag and switch the sound off just by feel, for instance if I walked into a meeting or a movie.
Arg....in preparation for my upcoming 4.2 install, I upgraded my iTunes to 10.1...NOW it won't recognize any of my i devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch)--
Have done all the trouble shooting steps that I could find...no dice.

Mine just started to work after trying update like 20 times! Now lets hope it installs with no problems
reasons to jailbreak
Well, I saw some posts back about how people think we just jailbreak to pirate apps, etc.
In no particular order here is why I jailbreak:
1) MyWi 4.0; If I go to a buddies house and no one has internet. Not a problem. My phone is now instantly a wifi hot spot and everyone can connect to my iPhone 4. This came in handy when I drafted my fantasy football this year and no one could connect through our firewall. MyWi 4.0 saved the day.
2) SbSettings; Its annoying to dig through 3 menus to turn off 3G, wifi, exchange settings, brightness, etc. Well, with SbSettings all you have to do is swipe to the right where your clock is up top and drop down menu comes up with 1 button pressing for my flashlight, wifi, 3G toggle, free up memory. This is very useful and saves alot of time. In fact, I dont know why Apple has not done something like this yet.
3) Facetime limited to Wifi? Not if you jailbreak. Now you can use facetime over 3G!
4) Tired of people ringing your phone who you dont like. If you jailbreak, they have an app that will block all incoming calls and only allow calls that YOU want.
So for me, those are the best reasons to jailbreak. For the record, I drive a Nissan Maxima and I do not mod my car in any way.

I tried to create the free MobileMe account using my apple ID and got the same error even after I verified my apple user ID. I tried several times without any luck. Anyone else?
