I don't know if it's been posted before, but "animations" are slower on my 5S.
When I tap an app icon it takes a solid second before the opening animation starts (same goes for tapping the home button to close an app). I can see a noticeable delay when comparing the 5S to the iPad Mini (when opening the same apps side by side).

Does anyone notice the same thing?

Yes, me too!!!... Animations are kind of slow

I'm liking it so far besides that new messages don't show in the notification center. It shows the persons name but then has a blank space under it even though they did send something. Anyone know how to fix this?

Wow, that's the complete opposite to my experience. Even on 7.0.x I didn't have such a long delay before seeing the opening animation. Now, on both my retina iPad mini and 5s, it's pretty much instant. Did you do a fresh install? i.e. set up as new? I did that on both of my devices. I hope you get it sorted. :)

Super strange... I don't know what would cause this as many of my colleague's phone's are actually much faster with iOS 7.1...

If anybody knows how to fix this, please let me know! :)

I did try a 'setup as new' restore (aswel as a DFU restore). No difference. Very strange!

I have a general question for 7.1 and didn't feel it needed a desperate thread....on the front page the announcement for 7.1 changes says:

Accessibility has been improved with a new "Button Shapes" option that indicates where tappable areas are located, a "Darken Colors" option, and an enhancement to Contrast allowing users to reduce iOS 7’s white point.

What I care about is in bold....can we finally get rid of the over-the-top white theme?? Does anyone have any screen shots of what that means & looks like?

I decided to lose my jailbreak and my beloved Colour Profiles, and update to 7.1. The speed and stability is tremendously better. I have a couple of issues, though. They may or may not be related to the update.

1. My HSBC fast balance app no longer works. It opens, but when I input my passcode, it just shuts down again. I have tried deleting and reinstalling.

2. My profile picture on my Nike Running app is gone and I seem to be unable to upload one. It takes me to my photos and lets me select one, and then loads, loads, loads, and results in a blank white square where the profile picture should be.

Like I said, it may not be related to the update. Any ideas?

The issue with the Nike app is down to Nike as i'm getting the same problem with the Fuelband app and the problem has been present for a few days now, and i'm still on 7.0.6!.

It's almost like turning down the brightness a tiny bit. I can not see the difference with the darken colors option.

iPhone 5S user and I have reduced motion on. Double tap is much faster now. I have 33% battery left after a full charge after updating OTA yesterday with 7h59m of usage and about the same standby so battery life is pretty good.

Apps like tweet bot 3 fetches new tweets much faster now where before there was a lag. Same with Instagram. I have background refresh off so these don't pull data without the app open.

No safari crashes yet and much less refreshing of pages switching between tabs.

I like the new keyboard.

I don't like circles for contact photos or the new call screen.

I did notice what I think may be a glitch when I get multiple message alerts. If I click reply there's a fraction of a second where it will show another alert and doesn't look polished in going to the message app. I'll keep an eye on this.

Overall I'm happy with the changes. Really feel like 7.0 was more of a beta and something closer to 7.1 should have been what we got. I hope now that 7.1 is out we keep getting updates for further improvements and polish. 7.1 is much better but time will tell if it's up to how refined 6.1 was.

try to turn off 3g and you will find it solved i don't know the cause of this . the only thing i have doubt form OTA update so i will try clean install to check this problem

Only real issue I see so far is on my retina iPad mini. When I press the home button, it instantly and smoothly closes the app and brings up the home screen. But when I do the 5 finger pinch to close, the app closes then the home screen appears, taking 1 to 2 seconds longer. So instead of one step with a Home button press, it takes 2 steps with pinch to close.

Everything else about 7.1 is solid so far. And Touch ID is far more accurate now on my 5S.

If anyone can help me with this... please!

Every time I go to the home screen I see the data animation on top... and it stays there for a while. This might be consuming a lot of battery... I can I know what is causing this or how can I shut it off.

I saw in another thread you did a clean install. Are you restoring a backup now? If so, or even if not, it's likely loading your old photos, etc. If it keeps doing it, and you're sure it's not restoring anything, try a hard reset (hold home and power button together until the phone restarts). Should help stop anything that's running.

I just did a "reset network settings" and it stopped.... hummm!!!... never knew what was causing it

It's almost like turning down the brightness a tiny bit. I can not see the difference with the darken colors option.

a good way to really see the effect of darken colours is to invert colours while in safari. The back forward bookmarks etc bottom row of icons are yellow, with darken colours off they are orange.

I'm pretty annoyed; Siri has some bugs in the German version since yesterday; When I say "Call my sister on her mobile" (in German) Siri tells me the phone number instead of calling her, so I have to say "Call my sister" and when she asks me which number to call I have to say "mobile". Just checked it, this doesn't happen in English...

Another bug occurs that using Siri with the EarPods doesn't work anymore, I hear the beep telling me, that I can talk and after that nothing happens..

My feelings so far on my 16GB iPhone 5S;

Much snappier, apps seem to load faster, animations have been really sped up, finally runs like I expect it too.
Keyboard and text is slightly bolder and much easier to read.
The tiny bugs like notifications not going away or my WiFi problems (always disconnected when I go to unlock my iPhone) seem to be fixed.

Not much else to say as I haven't really used it for long, very stable, very polished and optimised. Feels like Apple have nailed it, much more like iOS 6 responsiveness. All in all very happy, I'll post any issues if they appear. :D

YES...this is a bug or something, I've noticed it too when going to website the wheel will continue long after the webpage has loaded. It is most certainly using battery I would think. It's not consistent because sometimes I don't see it and other times I do. I wonder if it's a javascript on certain webpages that is triggering it. It shouldn't be doing this.

It's too early to vote, I'll come back later it's only been 1 day but yes it's much faster than 7.0.6 and no more lag.

Changes:
Apple needs to fix the Music app, my most used app. I have some artists with 30 to 100 albums per artist and cascading through the albums to get to the one I want is wrong. The person that designed this did not have more than 1 or 2 albums in their library. It is beyond comprehension. If there was a way to just get back iOS6 Music App and keep IOS 7.1 that would be ideal.

The animation when using the home button is different from the one when you pinch to close. The good thing about the second one is you don't have to wait for the animation to finish to use your ipad. Simply swipe left or right during the animation and it will stop. :)

----------

I don't think so. I did have reduce animation on. I turned it off, and the pause is still there, but it is masked by the animation a little bit.

Also, I am using the pinch-to-close function on the ipad. I noticed that if you press the home button to go to the homescreen, you get a different animation which is faster.

Either way, I have heard beta testers report significantly improved animation speeds, but it looks about the same for me.

I've only noticed less stutter in the notification center, and so far, safari hasn't crashed (but that's not saying much since it's only been 2 hours).

You don't have to wait for the "pinch to close" animation to finish, so it doesn't really matter if it's slower or not.
