When I reboot my iPhone 5, it now shows a white background with black :apple: instead of the black background and white :apple:. My iphone 4 is still showing black background and white :apple: though. Maybe its because my iphone 5 is white?

I like the iOS7 Ui a lot and its getting better and better, still i just doesnt get the icons and the feeling of homescreen, it just doesnt fit the style of iOS7. The whole OS except homescreen looks very cool and current.

Interesting, wonder if thats the same case for the iPad? I'll have to try mine tonight to see.:D

would such a subtle change, really make you that much happier?.. if so kinda feel bad.

Ahahaha, yes, so much happier that I posted an entire comment expressing my raw anger. Man, I'm just so desperate that I don't know what I'll do next. Maybe I'll… post another.

Poor Jonny Ive.

The first IOS7 Beta designs where a perfect match to his minimalistic hardware design. I really loved the integration.

Now a wild internet mob forced apple to make compromises in den IOS7 UI and destroy it.

I really wish the day´s back from Steve - he do not cared about the customers opinions - he told the customer what is right and what he really wants. And he was right so many times. Not always. But many times.

With Steve & Jonny still team working and SKEUOMORPHISM gone, IOS7 would be a UI design icon.

Sad. Apple ignore the Internet mob.

I'm not sure how, but Apple took the iOS personality and snuffed it. The UI is ultra-boring, just like bauhaus architecture: it looks great, but you wouldn't want to live in it.

The UI has moved from delightful to cool. Using it makes me want to throw my phone away. It's like Apple has sucked all the joy out of the UI and replaced it with futura.

I agree 100%. I thought I disliked all the silly skeumorphicism, but a phone without it is just so unfriendly and less functional.

You can go overboard with skeumorphicism, like Game Center ugly, and perhaps the calendar and contacts in OSX, but I'll take those over the hospital clean look of ios7. New features are welcome. I see no reason to overhaul the interface. Buttons are better than text links. Apps that look different are less confusing than ones that all look the same. The new iOS is kinda android like. Looks sleek and cool until you actually use it and discover how unfriendly and less functional it is.

The oversimplification that has been done with the icons was ridiculous. I find myself spending more time reading the text than choosing the icon.

Finally, DO NOT punish your users by removing things that have become natural to them. Going left on the home screen MUST, send you to "spotlight"/search iPhone. Why make everyone angry about something that is useful and everyone is used to?
There is no inovation in sliding from the top, it is just someone's fit out of lack of innovation. Wake up!

Why make everyone angry?? Not my case, I love the new spotlight. Not sure why anybody would prefer the former, less effective, version.

Lol, yeah that's a good way to run a business. Ignore what your customers want.

I agree, most people are not ready for big changes and come to macrumors crying out. J. Ive will come back to the original design in the next versions.

the settings icons look worse when zoomed in and shown in media photos online but on the phone, I think it's an improvement. There is more consistency now in context with all of the colored icons of the 3rd party apps.

Overall, the previous simple design was nice but you would need every app developer to follow the same scheme to make this really flow and look correct. I don't have that fragmented feeling when looking at certain screens now.

I still wish they would implement two things; the ability for a 'dark' theme and change whatever code interprets / calculates what background color folders get. Depending on your wallpaper, downright awful colors come out of that.

At least these screenshots look way better than the kinder art they were selling as 'minimalistic'.

the funny(more like embarrassing) thing is that i hadn't noticed any of those big changes except for the icons redesign.
it's cool to see apple bring out beta updates quickly.
btw, the twitter icon looks much better now.

Just noticed the option to limit message notifications in the notification center to contacts only. No clue how long that has been there, though...

Really? I LOVE the swipe down to the spotlight. Now when im ANYWHERE on my homescreen i can search for something.

You just live in the past. Nothing wrong with it. Just people like you hate change.or you say you love change but then hate it when it changes.

I love the swipe down as well. I just wish / hope that they bring back the ability to web search in spotlight. It would be so nice to just swipe down and type for a quick search.
