I keep hitting restore in iTunes but it's not doing anything! I can't be without service now! Why isn't itunes restoring my iPhone when I click it??

Some Users report that during 8.0.1 update their iphone 6 and 6+ start bending automaticaly.

Should be pretty obvious how this bug escaped notice - it only affects you if you do the OTA update. No one would have tested the OTA update until it was live.

I think this will probably affect some testing procedures at Apple in the future.
Seems rather silly not to be able to test that before it going live, especially since that would typically be the main method that most would use to update.

I always used to update the moment things were available, but now I tend to wait a while. HOWEVER, had I not been in a test I would have updated this time for iOS 8's bugs. Whew, I never thought I'd say this, but thank God I had a test today.

I'm sure they have environments to test that.

No Steve Jobs No Scott Forstall

They fired Scott Forstall coz he was as strict as Steve Jobs. Steve himself cannot argue with Scott when something went wrong. Scott was a perfectionist. We all know it.

I'm watching CNBC and the anchors and many of the Wallstreet floor traders did the update and now have bricked iPhones. Lots of pissed off people on national tv.
The host said he reached out to Apple for a fix and Apple has not returned his call. Very bad PR for Apple.

What made you update the software if your not near a computer or home

If I was out somewhere not near a computer & my iPhone is my only communication device at the moment I would not upgrade/download any software on the phone , anything could go wrong

It's incredible the amount of victim blaming that happens here. Pull your head from your ass and reassess the situation because someone installing an update under circumstances that you, personally, don't approve of doesn't mean that person deserves to have issues with their device.

As I work in in IT, Apple has a method for testing this. They probably either released early on accident (yes automation scripts might of been triggered), or it just works...eventually.

Good.

They fired him because he didn't get along with Ive, and Ive > all.

Happy I bought my T-Mobile hotspot last week!!! Wifi calling works!! But now have to carry my hotspot with me, as I have to meet a guy for an interview after I leave work...:):D

Here's to hoping for a Liquidmetal iPhone 6S enclosure (supposed to be twice as strong as titanium) and a rock-solid iOS 9 release. Also: Blah blah, 2GB RAM, blah blah blah, 64-bits, blah Anandtech blah. You know the drill by now.

Apple never changed the iPhone casing for an "s" upgrade. So that's not gonna happen.

Now I'm getting an error message when I try to update through iTunes with the ispw. This keeps getting better and better.
