I'm looking forward to more info on IPL and the new Photos app. Only so I can see whether we'll still be able to sync photos or not, if we don't want to use IPL.

Yeah same here, but I'm sure syncing will still work if IPL is not used.
I just love the idea of it and cannot wait.

Seems that call usage is no longer added to the usage section. I had a 1 hr call then another 20 min call back to back today and usage only showed 57 min shortly afterwards when I checked it. My 4s used to do that back on previous iOS but iOS8 seems to have resolved that on iP6 (until iOS 8.1 b2) Anyone else noticing that?

[edit] that was this morning at around 11:00am, currently (3:00pm) still only showing 1 hr 5 min usage and 7hr + standby. So either the call timer is wrong or usage is not counting it.

[Edit 2] Had another 35 min call and left phone display off (BT headset) Checked usage before and after and the usage went up by like 30 minutes that time. Still off but it definitely counted the call that time. ????

Report all these bugs to Apple guys and not just here lol

This is merely a place to discuss the beta, obviously people shouldn't be coming here and using this as a way to bring bugs to Apple's attention. Added the bug reporter to the first post.

That's awesome!

Even though I'm not testing the beta, I've sent in feedback on this as well. I'm enjoying reading this thread. Please keep us updated! Thank you.

Yes if they just make keyboard only not transparent on ipad 4 that will solve the lag on rotation

As stated in the beta 1 thread, Apple is no longer signing beta 1. Expiration was supposed to be late October.

Anyone running beta 2 and Yosemite unable to do Handoff or Continuity? I can't even select the option on the iPhone 6+ to allow cellular call sharing; it says FaceTime and iCloud must be signed into the same account (which they are...tried signing out and in again to no avail, including a reboot, etc.) Just wanted to see if this is a bug before driving myself crazy troubleshooting. Also can't get SMS working.

Not sure if bug or not, but if you delete a HK enabled App and keep the data, you see the placeholder logo (in beta 1 you wouldnt even see the app name, but merely its identifier in the form of com.bla.bla..).
Still seems off you're being forwarded to an empty screen and not given an option to delete the HK data post-app deletion.

Does iOS 8.1 beta 2 fix the iPad 2 GSM bug where you lose the cellular data connection and you get the NO SERVICE message when the device wakes up from sleep? Toggling Airplane mode on and off doesn't ever connect you back to the cellular data network when this happens. You have to reboot the iPad 2 to get it to see the cellular data network again. I upgraded from iOS 7.1.2 to iOS 8.0.2 a few days ago and I have been rebooting the device more times than I've ever done in the past.

Still riddled with bugs. Hope they are all killed before the public launch. Latest is a funky control center.

I'd be willing to bet real money that some of the iOS devs at Apple are keeping an eye on this thread. I certainly would be! I doubt they're allowed to comment or contribute, though.

Why not use every possible source of information about bugs? :)

Some stuff we ask to be fixed.

- Spinning data icon in Safari
- Dropped wifi signals
- More smooth and snappy animations

I'd give anything for Apple to move the volume bar away from the music controls. It is so hard to hit those controls without hitting the volume bar.

Of course we can "report" and discuss bugs here as I'm sure devs do come here, but I'm saying we shouldn't only be posting them here as I'm sure they check the bug reporter more than they do these forums.

Does the weather app still drop frames when you zoom out to list view and then pick a city in a detailed view? Seems to affect all iOS devices on iOS 8.

Just loaded beta 2 onto my iPad Air. Everything seems just as smooth as 8.0.2. Initiating Spotlight still drops frames though whereas I don't remember it doing so on 7.1.2. Rotating the keyboard is still choppy as well in places. Things like that are disappointing and should not be happening on a device like this.

Thanks for letting use know. Do you still notice slight stutter and drop in frame rate when pressing home button to go to home screen after using apps like safari, YouTube etc for a while? Even though it's split second, it happens way too often on my iPad mini retina and ipad 3 (10x worse on this), and it's annoying as hell. I don't care about stutter in rotation, etc. I just wish the animation for going home and opening app switcher are much smoother and snappier. I hope..
