iOS 8.1 beta 2 Fixes/Changes/Improvements

They need to fix Safari.

Damn Safari still has this 1 sec 'pause' before a website is launched from bookmarks. Have several tabs open and try 'rotating' them and the whole app lags 2-3 secs as if the animations are trying to catch up.

Mine is perfectly smooth. The translucency might jump but thats found throughout the system and yes, I dislike it but it works.

Apple doesn't really read this for bug fixes.

Use bugreport.apple.com. It doesn't require you to be a developer to use it.

Bug, as stated in the first post of this thread.

Actually they read and one bug they approved same day after I have reported. If you remember calendar holiday bug for specific countries.

+1, especially talking about iPad air. Because with iOS 8.0.2 freshly installed performance is average.

Does the notification bug still appear?

E.g.
Someone sends me a text.
I check the text.
I exit messaging app.
I still see the "1" indicating unread message.
Bend phone in anger
Blame Apple.
Repeat.

Not yet.

This is incorrect. The status bar still shows up when viewing pictures in Messages.

You might as well wait for the GM as it will most likely be out in a few days (perhaps on the 16th after the Apple Event).

You can report the issue to apple since it occurs on 8.0.2, no developer account required. the worst that will happen is they will close it for being a duplicate bug, but that's better than it going unreported all together.

I have reported. Already closed of being duplicate. It is sad that second beta and still this bug isn't fixed. If GM will also have this bug, what a shame.

Lots of people don't experience the same issues so it's hard to say what's really fixed or not for everyone.

LTE/3G/2G switch is back!

To me this is the single best feature of 8.1 . I am struggling to get through the day with 3G on and switching to 2G will really help my battery life

...I already have a 4G toggle switch in iOS 8.0.1 on my iPhone 6 - are you talking about this?!

Maybe you just aren't seeing it. Open a picture in a message thread and then zoom in and you should see the status bar elements in black on top of the picture you are viewing.
