Managed to reserve a white 16GB Wifi at Eaton's Centre for tomorrow. Would have preferred black, but it'll do.

When did you try? I reserved a black 16 wifi there as well and then went back 2 minutes later and they were still there. Sucks if you JUST missed it but still not terrible.

If you are willing to get the 3G version, there are 16GB and 32GB available now.

Nah not interested in 3G since I can tether to my iPhone 4 on the 6GB plan.

About 1 minute before I posted that. All the Wifi's are gone now. Sucks that I just missed it, I was continually checking Fairview because it's the closest location to me. I ordered a black one online on launch day, so I could just wait for that, but I don't think the white will bother me, I just prefer the look of the black one. I plan on upgrading to the retina iPad asap anyways. ;)

Is there any way to check the reservation on the website? I have just received an email with my first name only. Just wondering how they are going to verify...

(for a white 16G WiFI)

Not sure if this has been mentioned earlier in the thread...

No need to wait in long line ups anymore. Called Yorkdale and they have enabled customers to reserve online and pickup later at any Apple Store in Canada (only if store inventory is available):

Hope this helps!

WOW! I hope this is what I think it is...

It has my choice available, but I have not got an email yet. Please be available for me!

I was at both Best Buy and Future Shop here in Ottawa today. Each store had a about a dozen iPad 2s in stock. None had the elusive 64 GB WiFi black that I am looking for. Anyone seen one of these lately??

Guy I have some questions. I got my ipad 2 today and it has a dead pixel or whatever. What do I do to get it replaced? Will I have to wait until stock stabilizes before I can go in and get it exchanged? Should I reserve one (lol) and then go in and exchange for it, that seems wrong for some reason. Should I call in ahead and tell them about it and see what they say to do? Really don't know what's the best choice. It's not terrible but it's one of those things that once you see you can't unsee.

Also I assume I can go to any apple store and not just the one I bought it in right? Any help is good, thanks.

edit: I read that 1 isn't enough for a replacement? is that true?

edit: I read that 1 isn't enough for a replacement? I mean it's not big or that noticeable at all, I just know where it is and can see it on white backgrounds.

For any support/service you can take it to any Apple store. Probably best to call and make an appointment ahead of time.

Not sure about the dead/stuck pixel policy. But if 1 doesn't warrant a replacement, then I say return it and buy again. Unless there's a restocking fee (not sure about that).

Chances are your iPad 2 has backlight bleed (95% of them do), so if they dont replace for the dead pixel, tell them to replace it for the backlight bleed.

I don't notice any bleed whatsoever :( Don't know if it's right to be frowning about that, lol. Guess I'll call in soon and tell them it's a dead pixel and see what they say.

Has anyone in Canada had theirs exchanged for backlight bleed? Mine has it a little bit, but I don't want to exchange incase I get a worse one... but sitll bothers me a little. Just wondering how they handle this situation in Canada?
Or do any of you have the issue? Ill post a picture later.

I saw a little bleed on mine, but its only possible when I make the screen black and go into a dark room. So far with 100% of my use, including movie watching, I never notice the bleed. Honestly, I think its something we experience on all LCD displays and just never really realize.

I haven't tried yet because the problem is so widespread, I'll wait a bit and hope apple corrects it, though if history repeats itself, they probably won't.

Not true. The original iPad didnt have this problem.

95 percent?? Where do you get that number from??

Was a rough estimate based off reports and the fact that I've looked at over 50 iPad 2's on display in Apple stores and didn't find one without the bleed issue. If you bend the the iPad slightly, you can make the problem worse or better. I think Apple just tried to pack everything too tight in there. Someone did post a picture of one without it on here, so they DO exist. Mine certainly has some bad bleed.

I have a 64 GB WiFi white version that I bought for my daughter and I am very anal about these things. I am on my third iMac after not being 100 percent satisfied with the screen on the first two. For the iPad 2, it looks good and I have not noticed any bleed at all. Although I have not locked myself in a dark closest with no lights and stared at a dark screen like I have seen some do, not a really every day application for me.

Cool, gives me hope of getting an acceptable one myself. My bottom right corner is noticeably brighter on any black screen. I can even see it in transitions between apps, but the only time it REALLY annoysme is while watching movies.

Not true. The original iPad didnt have this problem.

My original iPad has worse light bleeding than my new iPad 2. I am looking at them right now side by side. I actually remember how I was a little bit annoyed with this issue when I first got my original iPad about a year ago.

I never did anything about it on the original iPad and since my new iPad 2 is better it doesn't bother me anymore.

Just my .02 cents...

If I could get an iPad 2 with even half as much bleed as this one, I'd be happy. My original iPad has ZERO bleed.

Got the iPad that I reserved the day before, after ID check. Fast.

Downloading Xcode now. Fantastic machine for what I've seen so far.

Reserved a 64 GB black WiFi model for pick up tomorrow at the Apple Store in Ottawa. Anyone have any comments on how this system has worked?? Are they available when you get to the store??

Best Buy London Ont across from Maisonville mall has bunch of iPad 2s still in stock. I went in today around 4:30 and they had some 16gb wifi models (black). They were sold out of white.. Thought I would share incase anyone was interested :)
