So, I am going to be lining up for iPad 2 at my local Apple store either late Thursday night or early Friday morning depending on if it is an early or 5 PM release.

Now, what do you guys think I should bring with me when I go to line up?

A warm coat, gloves, toque, chair, and iPhone/iPad. Also an empty 2 litre pop bottle so you won't have to leave the line for a bathroom break. :D

It looks like Austrailian pricing for the iPad 2 is now available:

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1663631

The Australian and US dollars are almost at par. The 16gb wifi model is AUD$579 vs the US price of $499. The Australian price has dropped $50 from last year's model. I hope this is an indication that the Canadian pricing will decrease as well.

Was looking at this as well. Also read on one of those sites that the AUS price is inclusive of tax? Either way good news if it dropped $50 from the year before.

Ipad 2, line up!

Hi Guys! I live in Montreal.
I assume the launch with be at 5pm, just like in the US. What are your thoughts?
Also, I am thinking of either lining up at an apple store at noon or early in the morning on friday. How bad do you guys think the line will be? If I line up at noon and the launch is at 5, am i dedicating enough time to be in line?

Canada online orders - will the queue start at 4-5 weeks (current US wait time) ?

I've read that the launch will be at 8am if so this is going to be a very cold wait. Either way i'm going to be waiting at square one

This is actually my first line up at an apple store (previously outside of bell stores)

I was planning on lining up outside of the eatons center
I have questions for anyone who has lined up there before:

1) power outlets?
2) can anyone speculate on store stock

i dont know about eaton centre but for the iphone 4 launch at square one they had hundreds of available, and whoever was at the launch got an iphone 4. Im pretty sure if your there on launch day you'll get one.

Not planning to buy/upgrade but I wish Apple would limit it to ONE per customer, especially at launch date.

I'm sure that people who can afford to buy two will sell the other. :(

I agree.. With the way the market is I wouldn't be surprised to see many people buying two and trying to sell one of them.

If you read the article, the Best Buy guy says they'll hand out a voucher with the model, size, and colour you want at 10am. But further down it says they won't likely be able to sell the devices until 5pm. So you'd come back at 5pm with your voucher and pick up your iPad 2.

If that's the case, then the Best Buy stores must be receiving their iPad shipments on Thursday or early Friday morning. This would allow them to know how many vouchers by model type/colour they could issue at 10 a.m.

Apple just release a PR statement. Looks like it's a 5pm launch. Also, the prices are cheaper than last time, starting at $519 (see apple.ca). They don't seem to list the other prices yet, but I assume we can expect them all to be $20 higher than the US prices. Online orders start at 1am on Friday (EST I assume).

Good news about pricing! Too bad it's a 5 PM launch though, I won't be able to line-up :( Thank you for this, I will update the first page!

So now it begins; line up or order online....??

My reaction is both!! Order 1 online and if I stumble into getting one Friday at Best Buy, great. If not, I wait.
