iPad 2 - Canada Thread

Ahh, not looking forward to a 5pm launch.

Nice to see the pricing confirmed with $20 difference from US.

Honestly I want to line up at 6 am outside of a bestbuy but i feel like that isn't even enough?
 
The online ordering starting at 1am isn't bad since we can get an idea of that option before having to line up.. But I've got a feeling it'll have a crazy shipping time like the US right now.

I know there wasn't as much hype around the iPad launch last year, but a friend of mine line up outside a BestBuy 45 minutes before they opened and there was only 1 other person in line. They also had much more limited stock though.

I remember watching CP24 on that day (talking about Toronto), and there were only like 5 people lined up in front of Best buy when they opened. I wish it was the same this year. Yeah, who am I kidding.

I bought mine at Bestbuy last year. Arrived at 10:45. There was apparently only one person who lined up. I was in and out in 2 minutes.
 
I'm guess the lines will probably be somewhere between the iPhone lines and last year's iPad lines. Anyone from London know what the iPhone lines were like at Best Buy last year? I just ordered mine online.
 
i'm trying to plan my friday...i have to work in toronto and live west of it, maybe i'll wake up late, pass by best buy at 10am and pick one up then head to work late....hmmmm

edit: just saw the 5pm thing....i'll get home early then and grab it.

good for you. i'll call in sick on Friday, go to best buy and snatch their voucher at 10 then i'll go to either SQ1 or Sherway Gardens after to check the line up, if it's not that long I might just stay there till launch time... :)

i am anticipating a long line up for the launch of ipad 2 here, and I am wondering if any of you will 1. be lining up very early(what time is the most ideal?) on Friday at either SQ1 or Sherway Gardens even though the launch is at 5pm 2. be at best buy(heartland, sherway gardens, oakville, brampton) before 10am to get their voucher and come back at 5pm for the launch. :)

Sounds like its going to be a mess with people trying to grab a voucher and then moving on to an Apple store if BB doesn't work out.

Really curious how its going to turn out with lines and if people will attempt to buy 2 and use 1 for reselling, etc..
 
Mmh, still not sure about the 5PM launch. Lining up at Eaton Centre or Yorkdale while the store is open feels messy. Hopefully they will be well prepared.

By the way, I updated the first post with all the information we have until now :)

I saw on Internet that Apple retail stores start the launch at 8AM...

So what is the right hour ????

I'm french and I was in NYC for the launch of Ipad 2 but impossible to have one ! To many people was waiting since the day before ! :mad:
And many chinese was here to sell the Ipad in China before the launch...:)

So I think it's gonna be the same rush in every country.... :apple:
 
i'm going to be at the best buy in oakville or going to the apple store at sherway gardens. just need to know the times so i can plan my day.
 
So if I order online at 1:00 AM (time zone???) will it be a ridiculous wait time like 4-6 weeks to get one? :mad:

The online ordering is at 1 am PDT. I'd expect a 4-5 week shipping time like the US shows right now. Or maybe worse? They are all coming from the same place anyway.. And its about to be opened to 25 more countries online.
