Watch the river of tears from current iPad owners rise. :D

Why? Every technology thing you buy gets out dated in a matter of months anyway. My MacBook is 4 years old... would I like a new one... sure! But does not mean my current one does not work just fine and I'm not happy with it.

wonderful:mad: Just bought one for my wife for Christmas.

The iPad is still a spectacular device and I bet she will be more than happy with it. It was not hard to not know about the Q1 release of iPad before this though

Actually a mini-USB socket is a absolute given as the European Union mandated it as the standard recharging method on all cell phones. Of course just because the connector is there doesn't indicate USB functionality.

No, it mandates the possibility of charging..expect apple to ship a free adaptor

USB connector is not happening.

Its also too close to Christmas. End of March at the earliest

I love the conviction of people who say that this and that feature isnt happening. LOL! Care to share anymore inside info Mr Apple? Hehe.

Fact of the matter is there has to be improvements and features that users want from Apples feedback over the past year. So there is most likely going to be some sort of additional IO. Why not theres room to put it in there so A USB makes sense. At least new users wont have to buy a dog ugly white connection kit that is so out of sync with where Apple is going. For me the display is sweet but if it gets an improvement happy days. Faster processor and bigger RAM is a must. FT camera will be there just as a matter of course. Ill be dropping the money on this.

What is the fascination of apple and thinner? Lighter : yes Thinner : no, the form factor is fine .

It makes electronics more sexier. I think it started with the RAZR Motorola phone back in the 90's. Apple even tried to compare itself to the thin phone with one of their iPod products at a keynote. Sony also had thin laptops and Apple compared itself to Sony back in the beginning.

OMG, I'm talking about major releases that generate lines of hundreds of people. Hello!

They are solely iPhone and iPad! Duh!

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

No, you're making up your argument post-by-post and expecting people to know what you're thinking.

And my iMac was released, purchased and delivered the 2nd week of January, 2006. Oh wait, it didn't generate any lines of people.

Who the hell thinks the iPad will have mini USB? You couldn't possibly be more wrong.

wonderful:mad: Just bought one for my wife for Christmas.

Your wife is a very lucky lady... Apparently, the device will still work when it arrives you know, and the new ones won't be out until march/april - and even THEN the device will continue to do what you just bought it for. It's magical!

No river of tears here, I LOVE my iPad, and when I buy any consumer electronic product I know a new version will be announced within roughly a twelve month schedule - are there any other iPad owners out there who are crying (or shocked) that apple intend to release a second generation version in 2011, roughly twelve months from when the original model was released?

Announced in Jan, launched in Feb.

No way. I'll save your post and repost it on January 31st at 23.59 if you like...

Does no one here run a business - no company would EVER release a brand new model in the immediate aftermath of Christmas. Even the RUMOUR of an imminent launch post-christmas will decimate product sales. This "imminent new model release" is being spread by competitors to try and damage iPad sales, and - frankly - it's laughable (and won't work). it'll be march/april even if previewed slightly sooner.

How do any of us know? Apple may still want to push people that havent been totally convinced of the iPad onto the band wagon. What better way with a new model and stay in the lead of this new technology. just because you own the 1st gen of a technology Apple doesnt owe you nowt when it comes to releasing a second revision. Customers dont dictate sod all in regards to product launches. Your forgetting Apple have your money now and thats first rule of business. Even if they do launch in Feb 11 why would it piss off 1st gen owners. They have a great device, Cest la vie!

I see it as announced Middle of March released by early April.

Agreed~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ALL of these "early" release rumors are media FUD by Apple haters/shorters trying to short-circuit holiday sales.

cheers to the longs

But Apple know full well all that's being said here.

If you have a typical 12 month renew cycle, and launch your 1st product in April, then obviously come next Christmas people are going to be saying, Don't buy now, the new one is only 3 or 4 months away, wait.

They know this is going to happen.

I guess there is some clever maths going on at Apple at to sales number and how this affects things.

Unless they are forced to by the Eurozone nanny state.Of course Apple could limit it's functionality to the minimum the law requires though.Pretty funny that with all the problems they have it's super important that all cell phones have the same connector.Laughable really.
