So it wasn't a generic discount code but a specific code intended for you that can only be used once? Oh well.
Yeah I picked up the blue one (Favourite colour). It looks nice. I was speaking to the guy who served me in the Apple store and he told me most people seem to be buying the blue one for some reason. He also told me that in his opinion the leather ones don't feel as good as the normal ones
heres my story
ordered a black 64 gb ipad2 3g from apple store friday morning as soon as.
2-3 week wait...
so at 5pm ordered a white one at best buy after my credit card was refused...
6pm ordered a black one from pcworld as after all the failed credit card attempts i didnt think it went through and was going to cancel it.
monday
saw argos had stock for next day delivery so ordered one there,figured i would sell the other one to a friend.
tuesday, ipad arrived
tuesday evening, ipad STOLEN (yes stolen, dont ask, **** happens)
when i get home i find another ipad which was delivered by bestbuy, great!
what a strange series of events.
now just still waiting for the pcworld order to arrive, if it ever does.

PcWorld mess
Same situation, bought at 5:30PM on Friday. On the phone they confirmed they have one assigned to me but they had a problem with their pricing system which means that they have 1000 in the warehouse ready to be shipped that are not being shipped. No clues as to when this will happen either!

After cancelling my Macwarehouse order, I headed over to PCWorld that showed some 32GB in stock.. I chased it up with a phone call, only to be told that "You were told on the website it would be 28 days"..
I corrected his misunderstanding. Order cancelled.

Ordered from Tesco yesterday, arrived today. Little bit of light bleeding but I don't really care about that.
The best bet is to probably check the Apple reserve website every night. I had an order with Apple online which was estimated delivery 4th of May. I had an order with Comet which was meant to be delivery next Thursday (Didn't really believe them about this) but I checked the Apple reserve website at 9:05 last night and they had them avaliable to reserve.
I went to pick it up today. The guy who served me said there is no chance of you not getting one if you reserve as it's basically yours for a day to collect they won't sell it on unless you don't pick it up. If you don't then at the end of the day the stock goes back on the Apple reserve site for someone else to reserve.

yup -apple website and local store works well
I checked the site for bluewater last night at 9pm ,and ordered a 3g 32gb.
By 908 all stock had gone.
Couldnt quite believe it was that easy to get one, picked up today, and its great,

Been following this thread all week though only just registered to post. I've been down a whole load of avenues in my efforts to get an iPad this week! In the end I managed to get lucky and reserved one last night on the apple store website for pick up today from the apple store in Touchwood, Solihull. I got a 4:30 - 5:00 pick up time so late afternoon times are available.
Typing this message on it now! Really simple pick up. They seemed to have loads in the back and were bringing them out for people who had reserved them. They were telling anyone that enquirer about iPads that the best bet was to go online at 9 to reserve one as none would be available throughout the day, just through online reservations!

If you can't spot it in your usual usage, don't test for it. Why torture yourself?
I thought that in Aberdeen, as there is 3-week university leave, there would be some ipads left in the store but they were all sold in 2 hours... the queue was gigantic!
Yeah, I'd be one of those numpty people. In the fog of the early morning tried using the same card as used on the Apple order and got my card declined & order cancelled.
Ah well, at least something has changed on the Apple order:
If I were a little more cynical (cough) I'd be thinking that Apple's realised they're losing money on the smart cover sales as people cancel, so are releasing the hold on shipping the covers to get the money safe.
My PC World order - black 32gb wifi and black leather smart cover arrived today after getting sent back to the depot yesterday (was out during delivery)

You test for bleeding by using it normally, and if you're distracted by light bleeding, then you take it back. On no account read any light bleeding threads on these forums or take any action advised by those who post there.
finally got the order confirmation/tracking code email off pcworld.. its actually on its way after ordering it saturday am.
got the email at about 8:40pm, and when clicking the order code link it gives me the history of its journey. 15:00 it was picked up by dhl and it now says 'dsg customer location' (no idea what that means). so hopefully ill get it tomorrow or friday.
good luck to everyone else, hope you get you confirmation orders from the joke that is pcworld.

Just got email from PCW with delivery tracking info etc, so it looks like they really do have stock and are obviously just working their way through orders - slowly but surely!
I've had my dark moments in the last couple of days when I doubted my order existed, but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Hope everybody else get's theirs soon
