I don't agree with Gruber. If his assertion is true, then why not release all new products in September. That way, it is just a few months away from Christmas season. iPad is not like mac computers where they refresh them anywhere from 9 to 20 months. iPhone and iPod products are refreshed annually to use latest technology, because mobile space is moving faster. Trucks are moving slower recent times. iPad is a new category and it is moving a rapid pace in technology. So, it makes sense to renew annually. During the birth stage, it is annoying to get it for Christmas and come April a new one is out. However, next Christmas is 8 months away. Plus, iPad can be a great gift for birthdays and for school. So, it being release early Spring makes sense to me. We can break it in and enjoy summer playing games and getting used to the device. Come fall, we will use it for school. It is not cheap like subsidized phone or an iPod. So, some of us cannot afford it So, receiving it for birthday or Christmas makes sense. Gruber's logic is wrong. Now Apple can release an iPad in Spring, iPhone in Summer, iPod touch/ipod music players in Fall. Plus, they refresh major computers as necessary when new processors come available. Processor chips for mobile moving faster. We are already dealing with dual core and later quad core in NGP.
