Damn that really works and very well with my Canon cr2 raw files!
Now if there only was a way to batch add those filters to multiple images?
(update, mmm trying to make something myself. I can get the photos, apply a filter and than update the photos. But I cant find a way to bypass the confirm dialog ios shows for each photo. So i have to hit the confirm button for each photo. But still this is pretty fast to do after an import...tap, tap, tap...)
So close, unlike you I have no problem batch importing my raw photos into the iPad with both the usb and sd dongles. One additional step to batch apply those filters would still be doable. Then only local brushes on the iPad is missing from my iPad to PC Lightroom workflow.

Not sure if you've tried this or not, but you might be able to implement a select button, then grab all the images in an array and apply the filter to each picture.

Well I use MS Office a lot and it's stunning to use on the iPad 12 inch. However not being able to have two windows open of the same app is crazy with the huge screen and is a huge part of my workflow.

2 word documents for example.

As I mentioned above. I have MacBooks so I'm ok and not the end of the world.

I believe today's they allowed Safari ONLY to do this - why not all apps?

I just find the hardware gorgeous but stupidly restricted in the typical Modern Apple way. It's just a bit sad more then anything about what this device could be

Isn't this why tabs were introduced? Just like in your web browser, you can now have multiple Word docs open simultaneously.

Guest log on should also be there. I don't want family going through my stuff, would love them to be able to log onto another account.

Non-issue unless you have small children and are allowing them to use your professional equipment. Why would you do this anyway? I don't even allow my colleagues to use my iPad. Buy your children a $49 tablet and let them play.

Its not a non issue. Not everyone has a personal iPad. Sometimes I want to give my iPad to a parent to go through something, or another family member wants to use my iPad. I don't want them seeing my private messages.

And if I did have Children, it would be the same. Why should I need to purchase a tablet for them to use? They wouldn't need their own tablet, but might want to do something on my iPad.

Its clearly achievable as Apple has shown through education, so no reason to withhold it from the rest of us.

I already do something like that. I grab all the selected assets and loop through them to apply the filter. The issue is that iOS shows a dialog for each item when it's saved to allow it to modify the existing version. It's baked into iOS like that, I don't think there is a workaround. The only way I can see that could work is if I can get ownsership of the assets by making copies of them inside the app and then apply the changes to them.

It would probably be better to make copies anyways because you never know, someone might want to keep the original image. This might be helpful in preventing multiple prompts - https://www.hackingwithswift.com/read/10/4/importing-photos-with-uiimagepickercontroller

I was just saying that putting USB-C + Finder on iPad would be a simple design choice by Apple with very little complications involved, while putting a powerful GPU on a Macbook is linked to CPU evolution, and getting enough power on a Core M GPU isn't really related to Apple.

I'm saying that if I want to play Fallout 4, I'll buy a gaming PC. I wouldn't buy a Mac to play games. If you want a Finder and the ability to use an attached USB-C drive you need to buy a MacBook.

I have to admit the fact that Apple execs actually think that stretching an iPhone launcher to 12.9in, which looks absolutely ridiculous, is acceptable is a little disturbing.

The iPad Pro doesn't need MacOS. It just needs a few small tweaks, that's what makes it frustrating for some certain tasks.

Agree 100%. Not sure why some are struggling so hard with this. We know that a laptop does these things and that if we want the full desktop experience we need one. That isn't what people are asking for. With a few small additions the iPad could easily enhance the usability and productivity without ruining the tablet experience.

True, but that is really silly! And being able to put files on an external drive is much more simple than having a finder. We already have an adapter and we can already import photos and videos!

"why would you buy a PC anymore? No really, why would you buy one?"

Why do people think a "file manager" as a "pro" feature? I mean seriously, if you are a pro, wouldn't you want your computer to take care of the files for you so you can focus on your pro work, instead of you micro-managing your files?

I thought the inter-devices copy-n-paste is a huge feat on its own, especially in a "pro" environment.

Of course, if your "pro" workflow still requires legacy concepts (and some for good reasons), it's not like Apple stops selling Macs.

External drive support is not legacy.
the cloud is the present and the future for many things, but thinking that it can replace external drive support is silly. Uploading gigabytes of work to the cloud requires wifi, which is not always available, is slower (and it will always be slower), more espansive and less green. An external drive is cheap, extremely portable, always usable and green. Also, iCloud photo library IS very slow and it is NOT a backup. A couple of months ago about a hundred of pictures disappeared from my library, taken at different times, with different camera. There was no way to get then back from the cloud (they were deleted even from the mac), I was saved because I always do a local backup.

I feel bad that try to use their iPad as there only device

I use it pretty much how Apple treats it, read my papers, magazines, watch movies when traveling, light emil and web browsing and now I can do some sketches
