iPad2 at MacMall

They Dropped my call after 2 hours. I gave up and ordered from Apple.

MacMall you lost a bunch of sales. I am not sure when or if I will buy something from them again.

If you are going to say you taking orders at 1 am have someone there to take the orders.
 
I've had nothing but excellent service from MacMall. Last week, I ordered a MacBook Air and it was to my house in 2 days. I realized I wanted a different model, they said no problem, return it within 15 days and we'll give you a refund in 7-10 days after we receive the item...long, but after using their product and matching Apple's return policy is pretty sweet. I ordered a new Air, got it 2 days later, and they emailed me a return tag to ship back the first one. Got there in 1 day, and they refunded me that day and it didn't take 7-10. Excellent service for me. They're representatives are also pretty nice, although foreign, but politeness as a customer service rep goes a long way.

With that said, I'm sure they have more than one person working. But I bet 100,000 people would like to save $40+ on their iPad if they can get it Monday/Tuesday. They're probably flooded with calls.

I've waited since iPad 1 so even if it's a few weeks more I don't mind. Ordered the Green cover from Apple EPP separately and that is scheduled to arrive around the 18-25th. So, maybe a delay will be a good thing so they arrive together! :)

What eventually happened with your order, did you just cancel and go with Apple?

Canceled and went to Apple.
 
I just placed an order it took me about 15 min to get a CR.
I also spent an hour and 40 mins last night and failed to order.
And CR said it will be shipped in a week.
No shipping fee and no tax.
now better than Apple online store which says 2-3 weeks.
 
I just talked to Macmall, I had them remove me from the list, I was put on last night and they have no idea when they are getting their shipment of iPad 2s. They said it would be "at least" 5 days...

Exactly what happened to me last year. You were just quicker at catching on.
 
Actually, I checked because of some of the advice on here. My neighbor is waiting in line right now at Apple Store, he was told there is limit 1, but he is going to try to have his wife get a white one for my wife.

Incorrect information. Per the customer service dept. iPad 2's are already shipping out and they expect 2200 more to arrive tomorrow from Apple and those will ship tomorrow, but they have already been allocated to people who ordered by 10 or 11 am this morning.

Well, I had reserved at 6 pm EST yesterday, so I should have been in that list, but I was told differently.. oh well, I think my neighbor is getting me one from Apple store in about 29 mins, I am just going to have to pay tax.
 
I was one of the many that waited in that phone queue. I waited for about an hour and gave up after that. macmall is lousy. you would think they would staff enough people, but no, the management there is just too stupid.

placed my order online at apple.com

now the waiting begins....
 
I ordered a 32gb 3g from them at 9ish friday morning, eastern time. We'll see if they come through in the next week with a shipment. If not, I'll cancel and just keep the 64gb one I bought at the apple store.
 
On the second call Friday I placed my order for the 32gb wi-fi black. It was before 10:30 AM ET. Hold time was 20 mins.

Shipped. Arrives Tuesday.

It depends on the type of your iPad.
I made an order Friday morning around 10:45(EST).
I ordered 2 iPads, 16GB, 32GB. Both are white and WIFI only.

16GB one and smart covers have been shipped though tracking is not available yet.

32GB one is backordered.
As I said before, Rep said to me a week when I made an order.

I hope it is not 2-3 weeks.
 
My 32GB one also turned into "shipped"

Then I wonder when I can get it.

Still the UPS tracking doesn't show any information.
 
One thing I realized right now is mines are shipped by UPS ground. I didn't pay shipping fee at all. Anyone knows how long it gonna take?:confused:

+1 it turned into shipped friday at about 9:30 PM, No tracking info yet... bad sign...:confused:
