I hate you guys are having problems...fortunately mine was just delivered. Ordered with MM over the phone yesterday around 12:20pm EST...they gave me free overnight fed ex, so I would fight for that if they are saying you get charged.

Called back later today to speak to someone else before I read your reply and was yet again repeated the April 30th date. It is nuts that our launch morning orders are not being considered anymore a priority than the ones made on the Apple Store within the last day or so with the new "4 to 5 weeks" shipping estimate. I wont cancel my order until I can find another way of getting one without paying a crazy premium (I'm stationed overseas so MacMall shipping to an APO address is great as my options are limited...Europe doesn't get the iPad until later this month and the euro rate sucks).
I guess I'll have a nice Smart Cover waiting for me weeks in advance...
That's fascinating and almost impossible to believe given the overall sales skew of the iPad 1. ASP for all iPad 1's was something a touch shy of $600, want to say $579 or so iirc. The $499 wifi only model was obviously the most popular, with every other model raising the ASP a bit.
Given that, what you are saying is the exact opposite of the sales breakdown on the iPad 1. Hard to believe.
It is also possible that MacMall anticipated more sales of the 16 GB version, and so they stocked more... but didn't stock enough 64 GB versions.
Here is the article I read "... that the 64 and 32 GB AT&T 3G iPad 2 white models would already be out of stock by the time they reached the doors. But, not sure the demand is high or the stock is low.
My expression 'the demand is greater...' is incorrect.
And it could be completely wrong because the observation was only on a particular store.
And some other survey says "... Of those surveyed, 70 percent were first-time iPad buyers, 51 percent owned a Mac, 47 percent purchased a model with 3G and 41 percent bought an iPad 2 with 32 GB of storage."
my order is officially cancelled. I'd rather wait til the rush is done than continue to do business with macmall.
Ordered a iPad 2 64G 3G ATT this afternoon with MM love the No Tax/Free Ship & No interest/pay for 6 months MM CC.
I dont mind waiting maybe by end of next month they will have fixed the problems read here about back light issues & scratches in manufacturing or atleast they are inspecting them for these issues and tossing them aside before packing them up.
I plan to jailbreak mine so hoping for that to be up and fully functional with iOS 4.3 by the time it arrives.
Will be interesting to see how long this actually takes

Update: Just found out I will also be getting $20 credit for signing up with the Macmall CC pretty good deal I think just have to wait it out.
I dont mind waiting maybe by end of next month they will have fixed the problems read here about back light issues & scratches in manufacturing or atleast they are inspecting them for these issues and tossing them aside before packing them up.
I plan to jailbreak mine so hoping for that to be up and fully functional with iOS 4.3 by the time it arrives.

My ipad 2 is on a UPS truck today out for delivery. If you recall yesterday I posted an update that UPS tracking showed they had received an electronic request for package pickup. I really wasn't expecting such a quick turnaround of status. Quite frankly I'm shocked.

Long time lurker.. first time poster here.
I ordered the 32GB Wifi only model in Black via Macmall on the 11th, about 12:30 pm or so, (EST). At that time, I was told that the order will ship in 2-3 weeks. That night, the status changed to 'In process' and then to 'shipped'. Was not able to track until Monday afternoon, and it was delivered today.

I ordered the 16 GB Black wi-fi only and blue polyurethane smart cover from MacMall on 3/11 at 5:30 pm. Order said backordered until this afternoon then switched to in process. The guy who took my order said should ship out within 2 weeks from when I ordered it. Hopefully that both are in process and not just the smart cover.
