6 mins past and online deliveries not on launch date.

15 mins past and you could still pickup locally from London which is now moved into a 'High Risk' classification area for Coronavirus.

Well. I hope you get it.

The iPhone! Not the other thing :)

Hmmmm I was charged for the case, MagSafe charger and another cable, but not the Phone. They all have the same status and message...

I was able to get my own personal order in at 8:03am, however I'm having trouble ordering anything for my friends.
I also had trouble with my second order. Not sure if it was cause i was trying to make apple card payments. I paid in full with my apple card and it went through.

8:01am EDT received confirmation email. I'm so excited and I can not hide it...

ordered as soon as the app let me (7:06), Nov 3 for 12 pro blue 128. Had the pre approval for IUP and everything ready. Don't get how you guys get release day and I get the shaft.
Same thing happened to me. I only found out delv date pushed back AFTEr I placed the order. I noticed it on my confirm email. Had to do a double take since I didn't believe it. Why go through the pre-complete process yesterday only to have Apple screw it up? Plus the nickel & diming with the lack of charger etc is souring me on Apple after all this time. I still have my original Mac from 1984. Under TC, Apple has become a commodities business instead of the lifestyle dream Steve had. I don't even care for the product reveals anymore. Too slick a presentation (and boring).

Enjoy your new phones everyone. Looks like a lot of people going with the blue variant.

Yah I was going to order blue, but then I saw some edge on picture of the gold and was reading that the pro versions are glossy shiny - so I figured go with the bling! I got mossy green last year, but I never get to see it out of the case, so I am not so fussy about colours anymore.

Anyone getting this message:
Your complete order history cannot be displayed right now.
Check back in a few hours to see all your orders.

Both in app and browser.

Yeah, don't worry - happens every year. Previously the order confirmation emails haven't even gone out till hours after ordering, but that seems to have been quicker this year.

Having sold my iPhone X today I REALLY needed the order to go through. Only so many calls you can make on the AW. Was a faff, tried the app and the website. Eventually ordered a 128Gb Graphite 12 Pro and Cyprus Green case, but the delivery time had slipped to October 28th for the iPhone by the time my order went through.

Let's hope here in the UK Apple doesn't decide to give Yodel the task of delivering these phones......

Well that was easy. App refreshed itself and brought up my pre-preorder. Just had to double check and hit the Apple Pay button. Got 10/23 delivery on a 128GB Pacific Blue 12 Pro. Way easier than I was expecting
Agree.
Once the store went live (maybe 2-minutes after the bell) I was greeted with my iUP pre-order and within 3 quick taps, I saw the same 10/23 delivery date for my 256 pacific blue pro. Stupid easy.

That said, I’ve been an Apple user since 1991 - back when they were the counter-culture underdog that catered to the artists, the disrupters, the crazy ones. It was a cool era to be growing through. It’s fascinating to see how far Apple has come. People bash Tim, repeat “Steve would never...,” etc. For me, the single decision I feel took the biggest toll on the culture, on that which separated Apple from the rest, was the Angela-era decision to forego brick and mortar launch day queue lines in favor of ordering new schwag in your underwear. All of the energy, the fun, the community and camaraderie discarded in the name of convenience. I understand it was inevitable. I get that. Just unfortunate. Obviously, the world still rotates. Apple’s value continues to climb. But sometimes, what makes something special, what makes something matter, something resonate, just can’t be measured by the bean counters. Again, feel lucky to have known what made Apple, Apple.

Purchased three iPhone12 Pros no problem.
Could not purchase leather magsafe cases = problem.
Could not purchase duoCharger = annoyance.

I feel your pain. Same here for a 12Pro. Did your shipping date slip from Oct 23 to Oct 30-Nov3 like mine did?
My 12 Pro Pacific Blue did slip to October 30-Nov 3 even after only about 5 minutes in. I am wondering if Apple underestimated the demand for the blue variant of the Pro models.

Stuff that's not on pre-order will get charged as soon as they start processing it for delivery, pre-order stuff (e.g. phone) gets charged when they ship, often the same day you receive it. They sometimes put an authorisation hold on funds on your credit card when you order, but this clears after a couple of days and people start panicking every year because they think Apple have cancelled their orders when they see the money showing as available on their cards again.

I was ready at 8:00am EDT, order went through and I got an email at 8:04am EDT.

Iphone 12pro blue T-mobile

Delivery: 11/03-11/06

I am somewhat disappointed.

I don't understand why they still can't make a smooth pre-order process happen. I guess Tim won't spend any extra dollars on a better process.
Well, here is the thing. Apple has one of the better preorder systems. It’s not so much an Apple thing as it is an overall internet server design issue.

Name one company that takes millions upon millions of preorders in mere hours that doesn’t have issues, and I will kindly retract my statement (looking at you Sony and Microsoft). At least Apple does preorders instead of just doing a straight launch day and once it’s out of stock you can’t order... looking at Nvidia and their 3000 series launah debacle.

All I am trying to say is this is inevitable, and not sure much can be done to improve it with the server tech that currently exists.

I think it is a huge amount of banking data. Imagine looking at a histogram on a big Teevee showing live orders. It would be something wild to see. Many many orders every second. Hard to cope with that volume of transactions.

Orders for a iPhone 12 Pro 256GB in Pacific Blue already slipping to an November delivery date according to the Apple Store app, though oddly enough In Store Pickup option still shows 10/23 availability.

I checked the iPhone 12 just now, and all of the sizes are still showing shipping next week. So, one may think that either the Mini or the Max may be the star of the show this year, Apple has a huge stock to run through, or its just not feasible for people to upgrade their phones this year. Either way, is interesting.

I am somewhat disappointed.

same thing happened to my wife!! Although she signed into the app only at 7:45am so maybe that was the reason?

Well that was a disaster.

• Only the iPhone version of the app was live, at 5:01 am. The iPad version and the website were still "getting things ready" for about 5 minutes past 5.

• You cannot use the iPhone app to purchase an installment plan iPhone on your wireless account that isn't the phone you're physically holding. It defaults to the carrier and device you're using, with no way to specify another line on your plan.

• Apple will not ship an iPhone to any address on your AT&T account other than the one specified on the account. Sucks when you're trying to get your brother a new iPhone and he lives 400 miles away. So you think you'll try to order from the wireless carrier directly, because they will ship to another address. Only problem is AT&T's website is about as useful as ever and is completely broken. Still barely functioning as I type this at 5:48 am.

In the end I managed to snag my phone (12 Pro, 256 GB, Pacific Blue, full price) at 5:02 am because I had it pre-saved. I got an October 23 arrival date. I ended up getting my brother's phone (12 Pro, 128 GB, Pacific Blue, AT&T installment plan) around 5:23 am from Apple's website. That has a 7 - 10 business days shipping estimate, and I have to ship it to him once it arrives at my house.
Your 2nd bullet isn’t accurate. Ordered phone for my son through installment plan from my phone.

The pre approval is exactly the same as putting it in favorites. It didnt save a physical phone for you, just saved the configuratipon you want. Still had to complete the order process just like everyone else.

Think before you type!

You had to complete a different order process!! What is not clear about that?

Apple Pay is instant, Pre-Approval for finance is not.

I got mine at 8:30AM CST via Xfinity Wireless. I remember the days of waking up at 2AM and MAYBE being able to order it.

What a smooth process this was.....good job Comcast.
