The flashlight was invented in the USA. Therefore the American English word is the original word. It’s the Brits who decided to rename it.If you're confused, yours will likely have a 'flashlight' button since for some reason USA decided to rename that object!
Wait for the gen 1 ARM MacsAnd once again, GEN 1 problems.
Gen 1? The iPhone 12 is gen 1? So the original iPhone was what? Gen -11?And once again, GEN 1 problems.
"Torch" is the term the UK uses for "Flashlight."
The problem also affects non-MagSafe cases. I tried Mujjo leather and Spigen Ultra Hybrid and same results as using Apple leather and silicone cases.I’m just throwing this out there...are those who are having the problem using a MagSafe case?
No. I didn’t read EVERY SINGLE post. Again...just throwing it out there. Maybe I’m just lucky (never happens), but I’m not having this issue. I’m using a third-patry case without any magnets. My camera and flashlight are easier to activate from the Lock Screen, than they were on my 11.
I stand corrected. The flashlight was invented in the USA. Therefore the American English word is the original word. It’s the Brits who decided to rename it.
I’ve found that setting the back tap option in the accessibility settings to “Home” and double taping the back of the phone eliminates the need to swipe to unlock. Temporary fix
A significant number of new iPhone 12 mini owners are reporting Lock Screen sensitivity issues since receiving their phones. The MacRumors forum has a post running several pages describing the issue, and the thread has been shared on Reddit, where more users are reporting similar problems.

Specifically, the problem manifests for most users when swiping up from the bottom of the Lock Screen using their thumb to unlock the device, or when pressing the torch or camera buttons on the Lock Screen.
The display doesn't always recognize the press or the swipe up to unlock. Other fingers seem to have more luck and the sensitivity issues end once the iPhone 12 mini is unlocked.
Some users speculate that the lack of responsiveness could be a conductivity or grounding issue, because there are reports that it resolves itself when the handset is plugged into a wall charger, or when touching the frame without a case.
However, there's no consensus yet on what's causing the problem and whether it's hardware or software related, but hopefully it's the latter and Apple can release an update to resolve the issue soon.

Either photoshopped or they ordered out for a man with a baseball glove for a hand to do the photo shoot. 😆The mini looks way smaller in this pic than in most others....

They want you to buy the iphone 13Can you imagine getting a new 12 Mini, and the first day you use it, you can’t input your passcode reliably after multiple attempts, and it locks you out for an hour? Kind of a nightmare, hugely disappointing experience.

Good thought process although it doesn’t pan out. I tried using different non-MagSafe cases with a screen protector on and still had the problem.I believe it has something to do with a combination of a MagSafe case + screen protector. I setup my Mini yesterday, used it for 12 hours, absolutely no issues (unplugged or plugged). Today, I put on a screen protector. Still no issues.
Then I picked up an Apple Silicone case. After putting it on, I could unlock the screen, but parts of the screen became unresponsive. I also noticed that the case wasn’t fully “seated”. The silly magsafe logo appears when you put on the case. After locking the phone again, I unlocked with no issues and the screen was responsive again.
My guess, this has something to do with MagSafe cases and how it interferes with the conductivity of the screen. I wonder if you just used a skin case (with no magnets) if it would not cause the issue.
It’s been working fine for a couple of hours with the case now, but it seems to be slightly less responsive than before.
Not every person has slender hands and fingers like you. Just let everyone enjoy that little apparatus.![]()
Look at those sausage fingers. 😂 How in the world is a person with such thick fingers using an iPhone 12 Mini!?
