Verizon told me that really all I can do is change cellular providers if I can’t wait... hehe words hurt
Did you see Forbes reported on it? The reporter has reached out to Apple but hasn't updated the article. Seems like word is getting out there now.

Having used Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile each for several years, I'd say unless Verizon is the only one that provides the coverage you need, why NOT change? At this point I honestly think T-Mobile has the best service, has the best 5g coverage, and has better customer service than either Verizon or AT&T. Things have really changed since they were a dinky company. They are definitely worth taking a look at.

Yeah T-Mobile has been rock solid for me for over a year since I switched from AT&T. I was expecting to take a step back in coverage in exchange for a lower monthly bill, but haven't really noticed any difference between AT&T and T-Mobile, at least in my local area.

And by rock solid, I mean rock solid ... until I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max and started seeing the constant cellular disconnects and reconnects rather :(

I tried T-Mobile many years ago and was very disappointed. There were several dropped calls along major freeways.
I came back to T-Mobile recently and have driven around comparing coverage with both Verizon and AT&T. I can honestly say that in my area of Southern California, T-Mobile with few exceptions beats them both.
They also do not charge any extra for 5g, and do not add on for taxes or fees.

I live in the Deep South, so much so that we can only get satellite Internet, if and when T mobile makes a good run at the country folks I’d give them a look, for now all we really have is Verizon and some ATT. I’m just trolling Verizon at this point.

Verizon told me today the official plan is to keep replacing phones until I get a working one. I’ve contacted executive relations to get some answers hopefully.

For real? Is there an official release on this or do you have to play CSR roulette?

All my Verizon stores were sold to to a 3rd party store operator so sometimes they don't play by the same rules.

It’s customer service roulette. I ended up going into the store yesterday after the most recent support rep texting me was horrible. The store manager said corporate Verizon has prohibited them from making exceptions to the 14 day return window for the 12 series bc so many people are having issues. So literally the only thing they have the power to do is a warranty claim and request it be a brand new device and not refurbished. He said that he’s seen people getting luckier this week with the replacements because they are getting into later batches of the phones. But he and support basically confirmed it is a device hardware issue with the 12 pro and 12 pro max. A lot of reps are still playing the run-around game but the higher up reps and employees are starting to be honest.

Not buying this. I returned mine outside the 2 week window thru the worry free guarantee. For them to tell you it's hardware is ignorant because no one really knows the issue yet. Until Apple or Verizon release a statement its all here-say. Sounds like this manager was doing everything he could for you not to return your phone thru his store.

So what did you do to get to return it? What did you say and who did you talk to?

I ask, because the worry free guarantee is the 14 day window to my understanding.

I wasn't questioning you btw.

I legitimately called numerous times and finally I was like listen you can see how this started within my two week period of time. My wife is pregnant so I cannot afford to not have service or miss a text which I am doing with this phone. I just kept hammering them and asking to speak to someone higher. Finally I got someone who did it for me. All over the phone. The stores, forget it they want no part. It goes against their numbers I believe.

No worries, I didn’t take it that way! And all the reps keep sticking to the story for me unfortunately. I’m hoping the head honchos I emailed will respond Monday. Doubtful though.

If you are having a lot of issues don't give up and keep calling and torturing them. I could have kept the phone, sure, but the fact my wife is pregnant and Im paying a premium for a phone that doesn't always work was enough for me to return it.

Did anyone try beta 3 of iOS 14.3? Does it solve the issue?
I have not had a repeat of the “NO SERVICE” issue since I upgraded to iOS 14.3 beta. It contains a new modem for iPhone 12 series and new carrier version for Verizon.

Before the update iPhone 12 Pro Max I would go into Costco have 5 full bars of 5G outside but as soon as I stepped inside the signal would go back to 1 - 2 bar LTE and eventually NO SERVICE. When exiting the store the phone would not regain service unless I toggle airplane mode then it will pick up signal again. After the update the phone does not loose signal inside the store just get a weak enough signal the deeper you go inside that data is slow.

This is in the Los Angeles area. Since the update to iOS 14.3 the signal has also been stronger and not loosing 5G as often.

I tried the beta out and it unfortunately didn’t fix it for me.

I’ve gotten 2 bars steadily today and even 3 at a few points. Dropped once early this AM

Switched from Verizon to AT&T earlier this week, and picked up my 2nd iPhone 12 Pro today (the 1st was returned in less than a week after release). I'm in the Boston area.

No issues so far, but I will report back if problems arise.
Wow that’s a first it’s usually the other way Around. Everybody switch to Verizon
