It's my own feeling that commenting on posters personally is folly and until another pays my bills, they have to no right to judge the way money is spent.
How about asking the masses about a high refresh rate on a flagship phone and see if the masses view it as a miss?
Who really cares what the tech enthusiast agrees with or not, or what any youtuber agrees with or not. This is the bottom line,...if the iphone 12 is not for you (the royal "you") then don't buy it.
And if you believe the masses that purchase Apple customers have an Apple bias, you are probably right. And it's a good thing, not a bad thing as the subtext of your comment, with the roll-eyes face would insinuate.
If you’d actually follow some tech experts then you’d immediately realize that there’s a bunch of technical errors and misinformation in his videos.
His videos are good for a first look into new stuff and are well produced but really aren’t videos you should watch if you actually want to know details about phones.
If Steve Jobs were alive, and his team wanted to implement Lidar, then they would immediately put it in every single iPad & iPhone across the product line to spur innovation in the developmental community...but instead they only put it in devices that the ”herd” won’t use.
Higher speeds obviously give smoother scrolling. But this is more noticeable on larger screens; so particularly beneficial on iPads. I don’t expect there’s much (any) benefit to other use cases, from non-scrolling apps, to videos and games; as they don’t refresh the whole screen that fast anyway. Is there a noticeable difference between the 60 and 120 really?

I’m sorry but what even is this? The 12 isn’t even out yet.
I wish I could get paid to throw ideas and educated guesses out there. Maybe someday and I’ll call myself an analyst.
Well... when you have worked with your hands to the point your finger prints are mostly gone, Face ID is pretty sweet. But both would be great. Face ID solved a big problem for me.Face ID sucks. I wish they would integrate both into the phone and give us options. What they did with the new iPad and integrated it to the power button is smart! I would love Touch ID back.

What makes the fingerprint sensor still attractive for the SE3 and not standardize it with the face ID?
I agree about the LIDAR. Too bad about your 5G situation! I bought a T Mobile REVVL 5G phone, burned some CC point, to get a handle on the speed and wow am I impressed WHEN YOU GET THE SIGNAL. No MM wave here, but the lower band really works. Not sure what I’m going to do, I have an 11 pro max now. 7 iPhones in a row, this may be the year I wait…I have a feeling the iPhone 12 will be disappointing this year. I do not care about LIDAR, it's just a gimmick that I don't use on the 2020 iPad. I don't care about 5G either. By the time it arrives in my country, we will have iPhone 15.
Just upgraded from the iPhone X to the 11 Pro Max + Smart Battery Case due to low battery life and currently, the phone lasts 3 days with a single charge.
Except that tech enthusiasts have never really been representative of the general consumer sentiment, at least where Apple products are concerned. He's the top tech reviewer on YouTube and been doing since he was 12 or 13? He's also interviewed top tech executives like Craig F, Gates, Musk, Mark Z and you don't think he has any expertise on tech?
I think most tech enthusiast would agree not having a high refresh rate screen on a flagship phone in 2020 is a pretty big miss. Unless you have an Apple bias and then it's ok.![]()

Every new iPhone is targeted towards those on 2 generations or older, not the previous gen users. Obviously 11 Pro owners won’t feel as huge of a jump in improvements. But consider iPhone X/8/7/6S users. They’ll get a completely new design iPhone with well-tested features and vastly improved battery life.I have a feeling the iPhone 12 will be disappointing this year. Just upgraded from the iPhone X to the 11 Pro Max + Smart Battery Case due to low battery life and the phone lasts 3 days with a single charge. The leaked battery capacity suggests it will be lower on the 2020 iPhones and I don't care about apps opening up 10% faster.
Skipping this year for sure. 2021 better have an actual redesign.
Im sorry, but the above is hyperbole. I will concede the sales of lower prices phones will outnumber higher prices phones, but apple will sell a boatload of the higher prices phones. And you can’t possibly know why tens of millions of apple customers buy their phones.Excuse me? I was talking specifically about the pro model model flagship phones which the masses generally aren't buying they buy they mostly lower tier phones or don't know anything about phones and just want the most expensive one because they want to perceived best phone for status and they can afford it or at least pretend they can afford it and do without other things.
I’ve already said the “tech enthusiast “ might skip these phones, but imo, the masses won’t care. And your opinion of what should constitute a “flagship” phone is your opinion, I give you that. Others might have a different opinion.I already stated I'm not buying a pro model iPhone without a high refresh display in a post so ya I won't, but thanks for the suggestion. I don't care what anyone says, a company's FLAGSHIP smart phone should have a high refresh rate screen in 2020. The lower tier regular iPhone 12 phones could understandably still be at 60hz as they are more mass and lower priced.
History is about to repeat itself....
They did the same for the iPhone 11 and its 326 PPI display, and as it turns out, nobody cared.
Unacceptable lol. I’m sure the techtubers will have a nice payday from the outrage vids; good for them. And Apple will sell their 200 million iPhones. The reviews are going to be pretty brutal if the 12 doesn't have 120Hz. MKBHD said a few weeks back he considered it unacceptable for a flagship phone to not have 120Hz in 2020.
