I think people will be surprised by how noticeable the weight difference is. Sure, 19 grams doesn't sound like a lot. But 240 grams was pretty light to begin with. I'm sure you'd notice the difference between a 23 and 25 weight dumbbell, which is the same difference percentage wise.
Sure, for the first day or two you’ll notice a difference, once you start using it for a whole, you just use your tool…

Just the other day, I pulled out a 3G and a 4s to see if they would charge/boot. They did. But what I was most struck by, was how small they were - almost ridiculously small. Because of that size, they were way more pocket-friendly. Was wild to see the difference between them and my 14 Pro.
How did those feel weight wise?

I went from an iPhone X to iPhone 14 promax. There is a big difference between these two. But on the other hand I don’t mind the extra weight. And if I have to pay that much more for titanium forget it
The Ti is pure marketing, no technical reason for it

There is a rumor that the Pro Max will be $100 more expensive but it seems that is not for the titanium as the regular Pro is also titanium and is not rumored to cost more this time.
All rumors til Tuesday.
And there always has been a $100 difference in price, and Apple has never justified that with any single “feature”…
And the pro max is expected to be the highest volume seller, so the $$$ you make on that, you can offset for the Pro…

Where do I get the background image on the mockup in the first post? Loving this background but no luck so far finding it with reverse image lookup.
i tried Google's reverse image search and I think I found it-

It's Norway

Rumor yes. In the end, the cost is always more. See it on sept 12th if this is true.

I think the price increase is an attempt to profit off those who must have the periscope lens. If it were the Ti, you’d think we’d see a hike in the 15 Pro as well.

Edit: Ha. @Tagbert beat me to it. 😂
higher seems to be Apple`s intention. People want a higher camera, of course it costs more. I am happy not buying this year.

They both feel significantly lighter than my 14 Pro. And while only separated by 7 grams, the 4s (140 g) is noticeably heavier than the 3G (133 g).

That said, weight distribution is a funny thing. The 14 Pro (206 g) is a whopping 66 grams heavier than the 4s. But because of its larger area in which to distribute weight, they feel closer in weight than you might think. The smaller phones feel more dense in-hand. Which only supports my belief that an 18 grams lighter 15 Pro is going to be a bigger deal than many here seem to believe. We’ll know more in three days!

So now every year the phones will get lighter along with our wallets. At least the trend is in alignment…. I for one am hoping the camera stuff is underwhelming so I can skip upgrading my heavy-as-a-brick 14 PM.

P.S. Next year the size of the phone will get even larger and be the same weight as it was before (or more) 🤣And at some point, they’ll release a folding phone and say “we’ve solved the size issue.” But it will still be heavy. 😛

Based on the rumors of a larger display and the periscope lens being added, next year’s iPhone 16 Pro will probably be close to 200 grams. I guess the addition of titanium became necessary not so much for this year’s 15 Pro/Pro Max, but in “preparation” for the 16 Pro/Pro Max next year. They probably realized 206 grams was about the limit and adding lighter titanium gave them breathing room again.

That depends on how important that 6x periscope lens is to you. For regular 14 Pro users who are thinking of upgrading based mainly on camera improvements, the question is moot because the 15 Pro won’t be getting it. Right now it looks like the 16 Pro will be getting the more significant camera upgrades.

19 grams is only relevant if the current weight is on the threshold of discomfort for you. I didn't mind the weight of my 11PM but that was as heavy I wanted to go. My current 14PM is just beyond what I find comfortable so this rumored weight reduction has value (to me). It's heavy enough that I downsized to the 14P but went back to 14PM due to screen size.
