Yeah, obviously talking about the standard Beats, which has the same matte finish (minus the bumps).
If they would have added some type of grip maybe on the sides to the standard Beats I would definitely have liked it more.

Its weight, form and looks are great for sure!

The slipperiness on the Pro Max (already a large phone to handle) is unbearable in my opinion, I felt like I had to kung fu grip my phone every time I picked it up.

I’m sure on the Air it’s not that bad of course.

Sheath killer? #paragangbanger
For me, if it had a different look for front lip (something more similar to last years 16Pro model) instead of looking like dBrand grip on top and bottom with same flush no-lip middle (but thinner) - it'd be not just Sheath killer, but like Sheath sniper headshot murderer. I guess they wanted to differentiate them more. If next they released a mix of the two called Sharagon or Peath I'd preorder right away and know it's 10/10 case.. When I receive it 3 months later 😅

What was the 16 Pro Paragon like? Didn’t have raised top and bottom lip, flush middle?

Sides of TechWoven case became noticeably grippier after a couple days of use :)
I've noticed the opposite. I've had the TW on my 17P since launch and it has significantly less grip on the back and sides than when it was new.

I like the weight of the TW case, but may have to go to the Caudabe sheath for the improved grip.

Since switching from the PM to the P I have yet to drop the phone. I don't want to break the streak because of a slippery case.

I’d like a Shilicone.

I did not have it personally but I've seen reviews on YT and it looked to me more like Sheath when looking at it upfront in terms of lip looking pretty much the same all around the phone, but when looking from aside you'd notice there is height difference in the corners. Maybe someone who actually had it can explain it better but it was less dBrand banana shape looking

The Paragon for the 17 series lip is similar to the Mous Limitless 6.0 lip. I actually like the design.

The 16PM Paragon was flush on the sides and raised top and bottom, similar to the Mous, but less dramatic. The sides were also ribbed like the Mous; they borrowed a lot from that case design.

It’s more about how it looks up front, not related to height but just how front lip “blooms” on top and bottom (IMO more like dBrand grip than Mous this year). But still I love the case, just wished it looked more similar to Sheath (symmetrical) up front.

When it had a TPE lining around the entire perimeter of the case, the Mous was wider along the edges, while also being more symmetrical. Last year they removed the TPE along the edges and left it only in the corners, which made it possible to reduce the edge thickness by ~25%. This improved hand feel, but also created the contrast between the thickness of the edges and corners that you’re describing as “bloom”. The thicker corners also add some extra grip, particularly when removing the phone from a pocket. Personally, I think this new design is a big improvement over the old one.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to try out the Paragon this year since Caudabe is not producing one for the Air (inexplicably).

16 Paragon had flush sides, raised top/bottom/corners.

Not particularly my fancy but anyone snagging this?:

Red or green wouldn’t look good with Orange phone.
It’s a shame that it seems like Pitaka is back to their bottom of the case branding. I personally much prefer the side branding with the clean back.

Try the Tank for the Air, looks pretty interesting ;)

Interestingly, I’ve noticed no improvement in the grip unlike what was said by other user and neither have I noticed significantly less grip. Mine still feels identical to when I first got it, it’s been my daily case for about a month now.

Yea maybe or they just wanted to revert to their old design of being able to clearly see the brand which I personally never liked.

This year though I have steered away from ultra thins, not because of fear of lack of protection or anything just because the TechWoven imo is just so good.
I’ve also moved away from full-aramid cases, primarily because the lack of sufficient QC makes getting a good fit too much hassle. I’ve returned more pure aramid cases than I’ve kept over the past couple of years. It gets old…
