Damn, the Ultraguard went back

This is my boxes…

1. Form Factor(like iPhone)

2. Grip and feel

3. Fingerprint/ smudge resistance

4. Buttons

5. Drop protection(chest high)

6. Bulk

The Sheath checks all the above.

The Apple Silicone doesn’t when it comes to drop protection. So a close second. I trust the Sheath from a chest high drop WAY WAY more than the Apple Silicone. This isn’t saying the Apple Silicone isn’t good. If I wasn’t concerned about chest high drops and regular bumps etc then different story.

I can eat greasy fried chicken and the Sheath won’t smudge or get fingerprints.

First impressions of Pro precise Paragon. I didn’t take measurements or weight yet.

1. “Feels” lighter and “feels” thinner than the Sheath

2. Back is smooth but not that slippery. Side grips help to compensate

3. Not as “grippy” as the Sheath but still grippy

4. Might be an allusion but seems like screen protector is over the lip?

5. If it had some texture similar like the camera plateau would be a Sheath killer

6. Seems fingerprint resistant despite the smooth back. Be nice if if it had the texture of camera plateau

7. Gives me Mous vibes but not as chunky and not a fingerprint magnet

Going to run it full day tomorrow

Got the woolnut case today and couldn’t be happier! It feels so nice in the hand, fits like a glove (super tight). The buttons are clicky and the MagSafe is good. There is a good amount of screen lip even with my Torras Origarmor protector installed.

The only complaint I have is the camera control button is very stiff so it’s basically impossible to trigger the half press to switch between adjustments. Swiping works fine however. Given I never adjust anything with the camera control, this isn’t a dealbreaker to me but is the only flaw I’ve found with this case.

Overall I’m a happy camper and this will be my case for the foreseeable future.

You're not imagining things. Mine is over the lip on the sides of the case too. But it has a nice feel when you swipe across it because the screen protector has rounded edges.

Paragon is definitely my favorite case. Checks all the boxes I look for.

What screen protector are you running?

I’m surprised how fingerprint resistant the back is. I keep trying to smudge it up and it’s taking it like a champ. Must be a coating on the back because I’ll see fingerprints then they’ll fade away.

I've always used matte screen protectors, and these are fantastic (by my standards, anyway). Not grainy, smooth, and very matte. I've used them on my S25 Ultra too.

I did not have it personally but I've seen reviews on YT and it looked to me more like Sheath when looking at it upfront in terms of lip looking pretty much the same all around the phone, but when looking from aside you'd notice there is height difference in the corners. Maybe someone who actually had it can explain it better but it was less dBrand banana shape lookingView attachment 2581106

If it’s like the 16 pro Paragon, the top and bottom is not massively raised. It’s flush on sides without screen protector. I’d say slightly lower than flush with a screen protector, but the top and bottom lip prevent the screen from touching surfaces.

Guessing the materials is identical on the back as last year’s paragon?

In case you're wondering what that'll look like in person...

The gray is always one of my favorites and I wanted the buttons to be something other than silver, so I went with the celestial blue. I love it.
Is the celestial blue a new color? First time I’ve seen it. I got the cobalt and it doesn’t match the deep blue well. I’m thinking this blue will be a better match.

btw i did order the nomad traditional leather case for the air in black. very tight fit initially. i’m going to try my hardest to stick with this for a while and not remove it. i know it’s not really light but it feels lighter than all my cases. maybe because of the shape it feels lighter. got it straight from nomad on their black Friday sale. i didn’t realize nomad was a california based company. i thought they were china based. there’s nothing wrong with being in china, i agree with free trade and like supporting all countries with purchases. but i also like supporting local companies. nomad is less than 2 hours away from me. i’ll definitely look at their offerings first in the future. free shipping arrived in 2 days. emailed support and got a response right away. a+
