to put it under the Developer Program Portal under "Devices" I have to be a developer....I'm not. If I can figure it all out, I'd be happy to answer your question.

yeah i knew that, but I DIDN'T know that Apple would NOT let me activate my phone it I wasn't one.
Sorry, but that makes no sense. You're basically saying that you knew you should install the beta software but you did it anyway, expecting to be able to get away with it? Brilliant.

I'd suggest downgrading to 2.2.1.

I was saying that I knew you were supposed to be a dev to download it and that everyone was downloading it and it was working and having fun. I only heard people saying that they wanted a dev to add their phone to their list for downloading...didn't know it was to activate their phone too. Guess it's my own fault though :(

Can we get back on track and work on solving the MMS problem? Seems to me we still haven't been able to establish the common thread amongst the people that have been able to get it to work.

So, I think I found my answer for those on a Rogers or Fido network here in Canada:

Since there’s no Rogers_ca.ipcc file, I had to grab the Rogers_ca.bundle folder from the 2.2.1 firmware package (since the 3.0 has not been cracked open yet).

Turning the Rogers_ca.bundle into an ipcc file is really straightforward: Make the edits described above and then put it in a “Payload” parent folder and zip the whole thing up into a Rogers_ca.ipcc file.

In doing this, I’ve managed to get the Internet Tethering options to show up, and even get MMS support to show up, but at this point I can’t yet get a connection established…. I’m still trying to tweak the specific Rogers settings to get it to actually work.

Edit: I have no idea how to get the Rogers_ca.bundle and I have no idea how to make a "payload" parent folder...

Ok.. updated 2nd Iphone and couldn't get MMS working. Tried all the ways I did before... NOTHING Did a carrier update from this file:

http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...erBundles/061-4732.20090203.gj3ef/ATT_US.ipcc

and it started working. Might have just been coincidence but who knows. Just giving info on what I did so it might help someone else. File is on Apple site... but use at own risk. I did have a problem downloading this file using safari and ended up downloading with firefox.

Hope this helps

i wish i could get the mms to work i called them and had them change my plan to the regular text plan, that has mms and everything, but I still can't send or receive mms messages.

Got it working! I don't know what I did, but I got it working.

I rebooted my phone numerous times, tried the new APN settings for MMS (which didn't work), went back to original APN settings, and then BAM! suddenly it was working.

which ipcc are you using?

Go look a few posts above. I provided the links and instructions for both the ipcc for tethering and MMS.

Unfortunately this morning I tried to send another MMS and it won't work again. I don't know what's going on. Ugh... :(

Just got it working, again! I changed the APN back to the one for MMS:

media.com
media
mda01

After doing this I kept getting errors trying to send texts and also when trying to load a web page in Safari. I then changed the settings back to:

internet.com
wapuser1
wap

After that I've had the ability to send MMS texts. How long it will last this time remains to be seen.

I have tethering working too!

EDIT: I have just lost the ability to send MMS's again. Seems to stop after the phone is in sleep mode for a few minutes.

Fair enough, what do I do with this file?

Mms???

I'm not sure how some of you got it to work on the beta 2.
Some are saying that when they upgraded, it magically started working, but for me, it's the same as before. It gets hung about 90% of the way saying "sending" then it gives the red exclamation.

Any help?

I think it is up to the phone.
got it to work on 16 GB - mms, tethering
Got it to work on 8GB - mms tethering ......but
on the 8 GB mms stopped working.....why? not sure yet.
then the vm stopped working and mms started to work
Now the 8 GB is not pairing with Parrot CK 3100?!

I have discovered that if I stay in the texting app after I send an mms it will hang at around 95% and then give me the red exclamation mark. However, if I send the text, and leave the app and go into Safari or another application, the MMS goes through! I have no idea why this is, but it's working all the time when I do this.
