I just rang Telstra on 1800iPhone and only had to wait 5mins (OMG) the guy was very helpful and he said that there will be more details in 4 days or earlier, not much more information was known his end but he said the information he had on his screen is more info in 4 days about pricing details and upgrades :D

Its the fourth day! come on telstra:rolleyes:

i hate holding, second try with optus, voda know crap, no VV as of yet

UPDATE: OMG optus sucks, the guy didn't even know that the plans had been released and was like "we still have not received info, please call back"
WTF???

i know.
i spoke to some optus chick yesterday.
she's like "There will be no info until the 11th of July"

and ive gone
WTF???!!!

telstra chat

Emily: Hi, how may I help you with your enquiry today?
you: i am wanting to buy the iPhone and have some questions

Emily: As we have not released this handset with Telstra as yet, we have only been provided very limited information. We are not familiar with what settings that handset will have, or what plans it will be available on as well as an outright figures. We will not have any any information available to us until the handset release date on the 11th of July

you: so, i wont know if i should go with telstra untill the last minute then?

Emily: information on the Iphone with telstra will be available from the release date of the handset on the 11th of July, we dont have any info on costing, plans ect at this stage
you: do you know if telstra will support visual voicemail?

Emily: Unfortunatley as advised above we do not have any info on the handset specs

according to a thread on MacTalk.com.au,
the pre-purchasing was going to happen tomorrow, but they are now unable to until monday ...

so obviously, they are changing their prices lol.

So far I don't think the Optus pricing is available through their website - you have to had pre-registered to get it. Makes sense if the phone consultants don't know yet then.

I have a feeling we'll see the Telstra and Vodafone plans a few days before the launch, probs mid this week.

Also, I saw a Vodafone kiosk offering pre-purchases. When I called up to ask about it they said they didn't know anything about it, "How can we sell something if we don't know the prices" and generally acted very concerned.

Perhaps they were put up too early?

King, have you been living in a cave?
Telstra announced their prices for it 2 days ago :S

No they didn't. They released very basic details but not the full range of plans, inclusions and options like Optus have.

is that in the CBD?
nah, its not in the CBD its actually at Eastland Shopping Centre, Ringwood. Might go in and ask them about it, see if i can get any info :)

Call me Crazy but it looks just like the location of the one in Eastland Shopping Centre, Ringwood.

no one should call you crazy...your right. it is the vodafone store at eastland.
im guessing you live close? got any plans for where your lining up for the iPhone 3G? or are you getting it later (after July 11th)...

Yeah live local, however work near St.Kilda, with a vodafone store 2 mins down the road, if they do pre-purchase i might do it with the store near work and just pop out for 1/2 Fri morning and pick it up!

Will See.... Just need Friday to come
