just wondering i cant seem to see it anywere but does anyone know what prices are for goiong over the mb limit for voda
 
Now that Vodafone's come out with their horrible price I've pretty much decided on the Optus $59 Cap for 24 months which works out to $66 per month when you include the handset payment. Seems like a better deal than the $49 Cap which is $61 per month with 250mb less data.

I'm going to go to the Optus shop today and see what my chances of getting a phone here in Canberra tomorrow are.
 
Wow... so either I beg to "upgrade" to one of those plans, pay the EEF or wait for 6 months.

Today certainly does suck for me. Thanks Vodafone.
 
well, i will have a black 16gb around 10am tomorrow, thanks to the lovely people at strathfield :D on optus $39 giving 500mb of data and will get it with 100 free texts
 
Congrats!

I just spent 15 minutes on the phone to Vodafone, apparently even though I'm probably the only one even willing to consider their $69 plan I'd still have to pay over $200 to get out of contract.

Even though my last two bills combined have been around $500 (I'm an idiot, I know). And the phones they gave us initially only lasted roughly 12 months before dying completely.

There are no words to describe how disappointed I am right now.

Darn, wonder why I can't do that. When I asked about a deposit, they said you could of only of done that on Optus' official website. You think because they only have 9?
 
Vodafone Plans

Wow, these Vodafone plans are atrocious. I've been with them since 98, My contract expires on the 12th, so I can either renew my contract with Vodafone and get charged a huge amount for the iphone or I can have no phone for four weeks and wait for Optus to get more stock... great...

mine only has 4, two 8gbs, 1 white 16gb and 1 black 16gb. did you call or go down to them, give it another go, you will regret if if you dont

I went down yesterday and asked. Did people who made a deposit on Optus' site get theres from Strathfield as well?

I'll go back today, what do you suggest I say?

optus and strath deposits are different, one is holding one is priority, just ask if you can put a deposit on one, if they say no, just say other strath stores do

"All Strathfield stores are different, sorry, we are not taking deposits. Get here at 7 in the morning with a machete or gun or something and you may get an iPhone."

Nah, but really. I expect them to tell me that the deposits are the same, or something. And probably say the first line.

The store i spoke to said that if you had one of the optus deposits and elected to pick it up from one of there stores when that email came out than your name is assigned to the phone that you chose.
Couldent imaging they would be that organised....!
 
This is hopeless. I've been trying to call the Optus Worlds in the CBD but none of them are picking up. It better be for a good reason (like organising the HUNDREDS of iPhones at the back of their stores ;))
 
I just went to the Optus store and asked about the opening tomorrow. Apparently up until yesterday they were telling people that they would open at 9 but today they changed it to 7. So I guess I'll be lining up at about 6 to hopefully get my hands on one.

Anyone got a holding deposit they want to get rid of? :p
 
Somehow I doubt it (EDIT: aimed at suprnovaynwa)

I'm still really tempted to plead for an upgrade for my Vodafone contract, but I have a feeling I'll be better off with Optus in a few months.

Has anyone confirmed if Vodafone are doing Visual Voicemail? It says it on the plan pages.
 
BTW from posts on mactalk it looks like it isn't only me. Apparently they are targeting new customers over upgrading existing customers.

I shouldn't really be surprised.

Also he is on 3, he called 3 about ending his account (no longer tied down) and they said they guarantee the iPhone by the end of the month....:confused:

nice to know that i pre-registered and never got the email... dont think im going to go with voda anymore but thats not the point lol
