outright prices

i just found this information relating to the outright prices of the iPhone.
some company called LineLink is selling iPhone 3G's outright:
8GB model - $775
16GB model - $875
only a week after 11th of July due to shipping from Hong Kong.
They also state that they WILL be UNLOCKED, they will do this for you. However if they don't have the 'ability' yet to unlock it once it becomes available they'll instruct you on how to unlock it.

That's some expensive outright prices..
Looking forward to 3 making an announcement on the 30th about selling the iPhone!! woo
i've also heard they'll be revising some plans (caps) to suite the iPhone which will include data. hopefully these will be heaps better then the other providers!

here's the links where i found the outright prices info:
http://www.itwire.com/content/view/18936/1151/ - story
http://www.linelink.com.au/category20_1.htm - actual website where you can pre-order your unlocked iPhone 3G.

i checke dout LineLink as well

[how addictive is their page loading noise :p]

not too sure about how legit. it all is,
and i agree that the prices seem rather high, proabaly be best to just wait it out.

HOWEVER! i have a small urge just to click the "Buy Now" button...
but i will wait....
for a small amount of time :p

just a slightly off-task question.

how long does it usually take vodafone to reply to emails?
because i emailed them around 2 hours before they closed... it was a simple question about the iPhone and i havent gotten an answer from them yet...

any experience dealing with vodafone?

I don't know specifically to vodafone, but it generally takes 2-5 business (Monday to Friday) days to respond

there go my hopes of a 16GB...
HELLO to 8GB/ eBay (muwhahaha)

eBay?

iPhones have to be activated in store - tough luck trying to find a freshly purchased unactivated one online. Phones purchased unlocked will be even more than Aus RRP on eBay.

Basically - if you can't afford it then you can't have it.

I sent them an email last night 6pm and got a reply this afternoon at 2pm:)

so hard to choose between the two of them....
but HTC = [probably] more than an iPhone....

so, i think it will probably be an iPhone
:p

I just wish Voda/Optus or even telstra to tell us what is actually going on because this money in my pocket is burning the hell out of my leg :p

yes, and my *lack of* money is burning the hell out of my leg.

- thank god its my birthday tomorrow...... :p

wonder if that's what it is though.
do you know anything else from your friend about the iPhone at all?

I think:

1) If he knew he couldn't tell me
2) If he told me, I'd probably put it up on MR anyway :)

Oh, and sorry, had to add this...

I know how you feel.

It's not that I can't afford a new Ferrari, it's just that I won't have that much money when it comes out. :)

woah.
which shop did you go to lol?

I'll have to go back down to verify the name, but it was one of those small places that aren't really in a store, just kinda there

For that price I'd wait for a 3g, but I guess for anyone who REALLY wants a 1st gen it'd be good.

was it one of those 'cheap chinese' shops were everything is a piece of **** anyway?
