and in that email it still says "we are rolling out our plans very soon"

im not even bothering with a plan.
im buying it outright and going on a pre-paid deal + buying extra data.

unless they bring out a $30 to $50 plan ... in which case ill be grabbing that.
but i still will buy the phone outright

what's interesting is the corporate backpedaling and backroom shenanigans that must have gone on in the last week or two.

Greg Winn and his ilk have been such a hampering force. In areal company he would be eating substantial humble pie. But this is Telstra so he will probably get a promotion and a pay out for being such a dufus !

its like 5 seconds later ....
and suddenly OPTUS AND VODAFONE RELEASE THIER PRICES!!!!

jks everyone.
false alarm.
they will wait until telstra releases their and then undercut them...

but at least there will be a decent quantity of iPhones in Australia for those purchasing outright :D

You got me excited for a second there:p

lol.
imagine this...

$30 iPhone hiptop-like plan

Unlim. Data
Unlim. SMS

all you have to do is pay for your calls....
now add a jailbroken phone with VOIP calls...

and you have the most orgasmic plan in the world.
:D

hahaha Wouldn't that be great.

I don't think Telstra will offer unlimited data, even on their $100 per month plans. We are so far behind when it comes to data costs in Australia.

I'm hoping that Vodafone or Optus do a $30 per month with 500mb of data. Is this too far fetched for us in Australia?

i honestly think there is some chance it will end up being a hiptop plan
:D

500MB for $30....
probs on an "iPhone only" plan.

I just rang Telstra on 1800iPhone and only had to wait 5mins (OMG) the guy was very helpful and he said that there will be more details in 4 days or earlier, not much more information was known his end but he said the information he had on his screen is more info in 4 days about pricing details and upgrades :D

i was just about to ring.
did he give any info on data/ outright prices etc?

No he did not know anything other than Detailed plan information in 4 days or earlier (Id say to see what Voda and Optus do)

The funny thing was it was just like I was ringing Apple Care very helpful and very happy and nothing was to hard, Looks like Apple is rubbing off on the big T ;)

Telstra? happy and helpful?? who would have thought haha, lets hope that its a good sign of great value plans!

either that or the guys going

"Im going to be happy, then they wont catch on that the $30 plan includes 10mb of data, 10mins of calls and 20SMS"

hahaha it makes me laugh because people are saying how telstra's deals are really good starting at $30. but who knows maybe we will end up with 20mb 10 mins 20sms
