iPhone 4 Orders Being 'Prepared for Shipment'

I was in the Houston's Apple store on the 15th and one rep said they will have white on launch day and another rep said no white so that goes to show how much they know when employees from one store tell conflicting stories.
I would guess 10-15% of pre-orders/reservations are duplicate, since so many people were unsure whether their efforts actually succeeded on 6/15 given the on-line "confusion". There may be a fair number of phones up for grabs on 6/25, the day AFTER release, since many people will not pick up their phones at the Apple store on 6/24, because they had one successfully delivered to their home.

Phone sales guy at Best Buy told me they'd gotten word that the white models wouldn't be available until mid-August.
This is a pointless article. How about you actually communicate with the guy making an app for your website, arn, instead of silly articles like this?

on a side note, does anyone know if there will be bumpers for sale in apple stores around launch? I didn't order one and I don't feel like waiting for one to ship to me in mid July.

I called Apple Telesales last night and talked to a guy (L.T.) who told me that everyone has been calling about the white iPhone. He then told me that he has a white 32GB 3GS and is not buying a phone until the white one is released. I asked him when it will be released and I got the usual Apple response.... "You'll probably know before we do." GRRRRR....
I did this too and they said the exact same thing. Just make sure you get there before your Apple store closes.
My order was accepted at 1:51 PM PDT and still shows "Not yet shipped." I don't know why, it could possibly be due to the face that their is a black Bumper and a Dock also in the order invoice. It still shows delivering on the 24th so I am fine with it, although the "Prepared for Shipment" will provide a little more confidence in the 24th being a great day.
