The case I've ordered for it has a glass screen protector as part of it. It is about as sealed up as I could find, without being a huge wadge of rubbery lumpiness.

I got both phones with 32gb, hopefully that will be enough, my iPod is 32gb and has about 14gb available but I never clean it up. The iPad is 32gb and has about 10gb available, so I figured 32gb should be fine for the phones. Need to get our head around using iCloud. She's going to be over there for at least six months, maybe up to two years, and no computer so we really need to get this iCloud business figured out

That is interesting. I should have got one from them instead of ordering directly from Apple. I'm not getting a phone plan, but it's nice to have a physical store front that you can go back to if something isn't right with the item you purchased. I'm really nervous about my iPhones, with all the threads on here about all the defects, and it's not exactly an easy procedure to return things to the apple online store.

The things I am worried about are the piss yellow screen, the battery function, and the spongy home button. I'm not bothered by a few scratches or dings, but anything that affects the use of the phone I won't be happy about. My daughter is heading over to Aussie on the 28th too, so if we do get a bum one she'll have to take the good one and leave me to deal with trying to get a replacement

I've just been looking into reducing my wallet contents. I'm wanting to get an iPhone wallet that allows me use of the phone while it is secured, and has a few card slots and some space for a couple of $ notes. But I have heaps of loyalty cards that I still want to be able to use. I looked at the Key Ring and CardStar apps and they seem pretty much set up for the US market.

What I am curious about is whether this will A: work here in NZ (I think it should, if I can scan my card in then I can have a barcode right?) and B: will actually be accepted by staff in the shops as a legitimate form of membership card. Has anyone here actually tried using a barcode that is on their phone or iPod screen yet?

I would love to have all my library, video membership, customer cards etc sitting on my phone so I'm not lugging a wallet full of plastic around.

Also anyone actually have an iPhone wallet? I was thinking of bookbook, michael kors or the sena ones. Not sure if a vertical flip type or open book type would be less hassle to use. I am thinking the sena hampton one because it flips up and over and you're just holding the phone part. And it is a bit sleeker and not full on girly like the michael kors clutch

I tried CardStar on my Android with my Subway and Fly Buys cards. The Subway one worked fine, but I couldn't use Fly Buys because the reader couldn't "see" the screen. Different screen technology might work though!

So do I cancel my apple order for the iPhones and get them through telecom? Would I have more luck with taking an iPhone back into a telecom store and saying "it has a mushy home button" or am I still going to get more joy from sending it back in to apple.

Why can't we just have a bloody apple store here! I've seen mention of people in the US saying there are over 4 or 5 apple stores within half an for of their home and we can't even get one!

Magnum Mac is being bitchy saying we will lose our jobs and the government agrees:mad:

Did anyone else buy online from Telecom? Has anyone received a delivery notification? I was hoping that they'd send them all out yesterday but it looks like no such luck!

I'm keeping my order with apple at this stage, it's still open for cancellation though. Can't decide! where would I get the best return service?

I'm not OCD about everything must be perfect. And I actually hate that so many people are so flippant about getting a new phone because theirs has a wonky square on the home button. All the returns for petty stuff just drives the cost up across the board for all users. But I do want to have the option to return for a new one if there is a fault that actually affects the use of the phone.

Anyone have comments on the pros and cons of staying with apple vs going to vodaphone or telecom? I'm purchasing outright and will likely go with 2 degrees for my actual plan, so packages are not an issue.

I think I will be happy with just about anything but a yellow screen, but I'm not even sure just how yellow people are talking about. whether it is a barely noticeable slightly yellow cast, or a whoa who let their horse pee all over my iPhone! type yellow

I couldn't say. I bought from Telecom because it's cheaper than from Apple (due to the subsidy on a plan). Someone else called Telecom and heard that they'll be shipped on Monday, and will presumably turn up on Tuesday. Does Apple have an ETA for your order?

Look what I bought

My ETD is still showing as between 16 - 23 nov. They have not charged me for the phones yet or moved the order status past processing.

I'm taking over my daughters 2 degrees plan that she got on her android phone last year, it will save her having to pay it out and the plan suits me. Once that is done I will just go onto prepay for texts and data. I only use about $30 a year in top ups for texting, and most of that is due to my offspring stealing the phone after they run out on theirs

Anyone else ordered one from the apple store directly? it's now saying on the main page that delivery will be between 17th and 2nd dec. They still haven;t actually charged me for the phones that I've ordered. Even though my confirmation email says delivery between the 16th and 23rd nov, I'm worried they might be trying to honor the telecom/vodaphone orders first. Really need to get this phone before the 21st because my daughter is leaving for overseas and we need to make sure she has everything set up right before she goes.

Was telecom or vodaphone chaotic? would I have better chance to go in tomorrow and get one over the counter. Apple already charged me for the two apple + protection plans that I ordered at the same time as the phones, but that would be transferrable to another iPhone not bought through them, right?
